A little bit of information about me to help anyone who questions my input on this site:
- I am an academic. I am willing to say that I have a good standard of university education. Seeing as the first degree is the one that is fully graded beyond just pass and fail: I have a first class honors (does not matter what that area of expertise is!) Anything else is TMI!
- Politically I am centrist. I believe that rationality means to take an authoritative stance in some things and take a more liberal stance on others. It obviously does not make me correct. That is the ultimate reason why I believe in free speech:
- Those whose views are extremist will be universally panned.
- Those whose views show rationality will be applauded by many and booed at by many.
- However, just because someone opposes you does not mean you are right! Sometimes people will never come to an agreement.
- I believe in using a neutral point of view in terms of both academia and any form of educational article/ piece. I also believe that that is the fundamental principle of Wikipedia as well.
- I look at/ examine both views in an argument and also try as much as possible to try to understand those views (even if I oppose them). At the end of the day: an article is impartial as long as you avoid taking sides. If it is a Wikipedia article, all efforts should be made to avoid taking sides. It must be purely academic and neutral.
- I have excelled academically because of my ability to be as impartial as possible! That is the reason why people get a first class honors and the reason they go on to higher levels of university education.
