Justin Lee Goldston (born March 3, 1984) is an American academic at Penn State University, He assisted in the development of the Master's program in Supply Chain Management at Georgetown University, one of the first in the field, and has also spoken widely on blockchain.

Early life and education

Goldston was born in Asheboro, North Carolina where he had his high school education at Eastern Randolph High School, Ramseur, North Carolina[1]. Afterwards proceeded for his B.S. degree in Supply Chain Management from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University  in 2006[2], where as a college baseball player he was an honoree of the 2004-2005 Commissioner's All Academic Team[3]. He received his Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management from Penn State University in 2012, and his PhD in Leadership and Organizational Change in 2019.

Career

Before entering into higher education, Goldston was a management consultant for organizations such as Iptor Supply Chain Systems, formerly International Business Systems (IBS) and Infor where it has been noted that he worked with companies such as Blue Buffalo, Intel and Siemens[4]. While he spent the majority of his career implementing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems within the industry, he transferred that experience to higher education where he wrote his doctoral thesis on critical success factors that was later published into a book entitled "Critical Success Factors in Enterprise Resource Planning Implementation in U. S. Manufacturing"[5]. In his early years in academia, Goldston led the development of a new Logistics and Supply Chain Management program at North Carolina Wesleyan College, while also contributing to the curriculum as a faculty member at institutions such as Bloomsburg University, California State University - Monterey Bay[6], Texas A&M International University[7], Harrisburg University[8], and Cedarville University[9].

He is a Program Coordinator and Associate Teaching Professor, Supply Chain Management at Penn State University [10], an adjunct professor at Bloomsburg University[11]Texas A&M International University[12], Harrisburg University[13] and Cedarville University[14].

Research

While his early research was centered around ERP systems, Goldston presents and continues to present his current researches [15] on emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, and the integration of these technologies, at various international conferences. With this experience, Goldston is a member of the Supply Chain Technology Committee of International Supply Chain Education Alliance's (ISCEA) International Standards Board (IISB). Goldston has also published peer-reviewed journal articles and presented at conferences on the topic of sustainability and social responsibility, and is part of The Sustainability Institute at Penn State University. He is an author of the International Supply Chain Education Alliance (ISCEA) Certified Sustainable Supply Chain Professional course [16].
