Ibrahim Muhtadi qualified in architecture in 2005 and then practiced as an architect and designer in many architectural and design companies in Gaza city until 2012. In 2013, Muhtadi launched his private Architecture and design studio.
Besides his educational and professional experience in architecture, he has other interests in several design fields such as Furniture design, Jewelry design, Calligraphy, Graphic Design, and Fashion Design with Palestinian Embroidery and culture. He practices and produces all of his design works in his design studio in Gaza under his brand name Ibrahim Muhtadi.
Muhtadi is currently working with several International NGOs in Gaza such as UNRWA to develop income generation and livelihood projects to provide work opportunities for marginalized people through crafts production such as embroidery, woodworking, rugs, weaving, painting on wood, and ceramics. Furthermore, he represents the organizations in the local and international markets and bazaars to promote its valued products and spread the inspiring stories of the artisans.
Also, He is the Design Adviser and steering committee member at the Palestinian History tapestry project based in Oxford UK. Please check the website of the project: www.palestinianhistorytapestry.org
Recently in October 2020, He has participated in a fashion design training workshop as one of 10 Palestinian designers from different countries. This workshop is implemented by UNIDO, under the title of the contemporary vision of Palestinian Thobe 2020. This workshop has been coached by a Belgian Fashion designer Christophe Beaufays.
