Sashi Zaifi (Tajik: Саши Заифӣ) (born December 13, 1974) is a Tajik singer, songwriter and bard of Pamiri origin.
Biography
editSashi Zaifi was born Shirinsho Kosumshoevich Masumov (Tajik: Шириншо Қосумшоевич Масумов), is a Pamiri poet, composer, musician, and bard. Sashi Zaifi was born on December 13, 1974 in Murghab district of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region of Tajikistan.
Sashi Zaifi has recorded more than 20 albums of Pamiri and Russian songs of his own composition. Zaifi writes his songs in Tajik, Russian and Shughnani languages, however most of his songs are in Shughnani. Zaifi is very popular with the Pamiri diaspora communities outside of Tajikistan as well, travelling with concerts to Russia. Zaifi had a countrywide tourney with concerts in many of the Russian cities, including Moscow, Saint Peterburg, Tver, Nizhniy Novgorod etc.[1]
