日本の奈良県からこんにちは! (Hello from Nara, Japan!)
editHi, my name is Matt and I just started my Assistant Language Teacher job (teaching English of course) in the town of Ouda (大宇陀町), in the prefecture of Nara, Japan. I'm originally an Illinois resident for all 22 years of my life, going to high school in one small town and college in another.
I moved to my new small town on the other side of the globe on the 27th of July, 2005. I wanted to learn more about my area, so I went to the Wikipedia, naturally, and to my dismay, there was only a stub! A stub! From 2003, no less!! Soon after arriving here, I learned that my town was to combine with two other towns and a village to become a city (Uda [宇陀市]), changing my address and a number of other administrative aspects of my community here.
So, I joined the Wikipedia community I've loved for so long and have made it my goal to create and maintain information about this excitingly new area I've recently moved to. Part of my job mandate here is not only to teach English, but also to interact with different members of the community and share my culture with many people. Collecting information for the Wikipedia will give me the opportunity to do just that.
Feel free to drop me a message on my talk page or one of the discussion pages for this region. Hopefully, I'll get enough information on each of them to move them out of stub status fairly soon.
