Origins

edit

In 2000 Melissa Loden started working at the bead store Fusion Beads in Wallingford, WA. There she developed her skills at the bead loom, box stitch weaving and the peyote stitch beading. Within her tenth year at Fusion Beads Melissa was introduced to resin [2]. She began experimenting with resin and the different applications thereof and found that using resin is a “great way to trap glitter” [2]. On March 10, 2009 Melissa joined the craft site Etsy.com, with her shop Resin by M.G. Loden [3]. She creates different shapes of buttons, pendants, belt buckles, earrings and rings. Some of the buttons and pendants are made with glow-in-the-dark and ‘black-light friendly’ pigments. Resin by M.G.Loden buttons are sold in over 20 yarn shops throughout Washington and Montana.
