As of June 28, 2021, the band has released two EPs, 8 singles, and has teased the release of a full length studio album. The band is now a national act after embarking on their first full U.S. tour in May/June of 2019.

In spring of 2016 Up From Here released their first studio EP called "Better Ways To Escape" which was recorded and produced by Lee Dyess at Earthsound Recordings. After a year and a half of playing a heavy amount of shows, they went on to record their second studio EP, titled "Words Left Unsaid", in Spring of 2018. It was recorded, produced, and mixed by All Time Low's Rian Dawson at Track Happy Studios.

In 2020 they began a series of recordings with producer Dan Swank in Nasvhille, TN and the LumberYard Recording in Hammonton, NJ with Nik Bruzesse of the iconic pop punk band Man Overboard as well as Ace Enders of the band The Early November. Their singles, "Throw It All Away" and "Fake Reciprocating" were released in 2020 and proved to be the most defined songs yet.

History

Formation (2014)

edit

Initially formed as an acoustic duo in 2014 by vocalist and founding member Danny Anderson and ex-guitarist Will Mierisch just as the two were finishing high school. They performed small time gigs for just under a year before deciding they needed to add more aspects of creativity to the band. Bassist Bern Mustian and ex-drummer Alex Boeving would come to join the band in early 2015 after being recruited by Danny from a Florida Facebook group known as Florida Pop Punk. In 2016 guitarist Will Mierisch decided to step down from his position as guitarist to pursue other opportunities. Following the release of the band's first EP, Tyler Houser was auditioned and added to the band as a guitarist just weeks before the bands first tour.

Better Ways To Escape (2016)

edit

The band worked with Lee Dyess of Earthsound Recordings (Mayday Parade, From First To Last, I Set My Friends On Fire) in Valdosta, GA for their first studio EP, Better Ways To Escape. It was released in summer of 2016 with their song Backtracked as the leading single for the album. It was met with positive reviews from fans and critics. The band embarked on a series of tours that year. In 2017, they were selected to perform on the main stage of Vans Warped Tour in St. Petersburg, Florida. The group embarked on several tours through out 2017 and continued to work towards gaining more fans out of state.

Words Left Unsaid (2018)

edit

It wasn't until February or 2018 when the band had made a huge move to record their next release with All Time Low's Rian Dawson in Nashville. The band released a new singles, Another Weakness and Make It Alright, as a precursors for what was to come on their 2018 EP Words Left Unsaid. The band gained the attention of more fans following the EP's release and continued DIY touring. For a second time in a row, Up From Here had the opportunity to perform at one of the very last show dates of the Vans Warped Tour in Tampa, Florida, where they attracted a large crowd as they performed alongside huge names in the Warped Tour scene.
