RenWeb is a school management system[1] that provides a web interface for many common tasks done by schools. Features of the system include student information management, access to grades online, student attendance, and student scheduling.[2]
Features
editSchool Administration
editRenWeb can store student records, including emergency contact information and medical records. This is then accessed through the system and eliminates the need for these records on paper. At the end of report periods, report cards can be automatically generated through the system. With RenWeb, you can also set up a re-enrollment process as well as an enrollment process.
Children/Teachers
editStudent grades can be stored in the RenWeb system, eliminating the need for a physical gradebook, although most schools still prefer to use paper. This allows easy averaging and computation of grades, and the student's average can be accessed at any time. Teachers can access student's contact information that is already stored in the system, allowing for better communication with parents. Attendance can be taken through the classroom computer, allowing attendance information to be sent directly to administration and automatically added to the system. Teachers can also update grades from their home computers, allowing grading to be done at home, not just at the school, which can help the teacher to keep the students' grades updated more consistently and often. The email feature allows teachers to easily email the parents of an entire class or just one parent at a time. For high school teachers, if a student's email is listed, teachers can email them as well.
Students and Parents
editThe online features of RenWeb allow students and parents to login through a web interface. Grades for each class are accessible, as well as listings of individual assignments and grades. Attendance records are accessible online also. Student schedules, transcripts, teacher contact information are also available, school schedule, school calendar, attendance, and behavior.
RenWeb popularity in United States
editRenWeb is one of the most popular school management programs. RenWeb currently serves more than 3,000 private schools, and has been doing so for the past sixteen years.[3]
Change in ownership
editFACTS Management, a subsidy of Nelnet, bought out RenWeb in June 2014.[4]
