Maj General Bilal Ahmad was born on Feb 11th 1937 at Peshawar. He was the youngest of 4 siblings. Maj General Bilal Ahmad joined the Army in 1960 as the 1st Graduation Course of Pakistan Military Academy ( PMA). He joined 2 FF Infantary. He fought in the 1965 war at Runn of Kuch and Khem Karan. He was part of the unit that took over Khem Karan Railway Station. He fought at Kashmir in 1971. In 1989, he was promoted to the rank of Maj General and posted to Quetta, Baluchistan. He raised 41 Division with 3 Brigades.He developed the Div sign of "Advancing Flames" or Shola. On April 12th , 1991 he met an accident at Hasanabdal on the Peshawar-Rawalpindi GT road while returning from Peshawar. He was in a state of coma for six and a half years at Combined Military Hospital ( CMH) Rawalpindi when he passed away on Sep 29th 1996 survived by wife Farhat Bilal and children Dr.Amer Bilal , Dr. Anika Haseeb, M.D , Dr.Mahjabeena Safwat Ghayur and Gulmina Bilal Ahmad.
