Rapper; producer from Soweto, South Africa Infamous, real name Ntshunxeko Nkuna is a South African rap/hip-hop artist born and raised in Soweto, Johannesburg. The rapper has released four mixtapes and an LP, all online produced and composed by himself, and other artists he met along the way for the past eight years, hit number one on various online charts, performed on live television as well as on stage, and only fell in love with his music even more. __________________________________________________ Infamous started making music at the age of twelve, writing lyrics. His love for music was fuelled in a series of rap battles that took place at his high school, Westridge High school. Growing up as an under privileged black child in the township music was the only way to express himself and kwaito stars were most favourable at the time, but he found a very unlikely bond or understanding with music by American rapper Eminem. As the writing grew better he learned to develop and fuse his influence with his own South African story, talking about his own hardships and triumphs through raw lyrics. Seeing how much recognition he was getting, he decided to go into studio and record a few tracks which included diss tracks which then created the love for studio recording and producing of which he taught himself along the way. Seeing he could never afford studio time or even to buy beats so he had to learn how to do everything for himself, from writing, composing, recording and producing, making him a multi-talented musician with bigger dreams than just fame. __________________________________________________ Infamous is a professional musician and song writer whose music is influenced by artists such as Eminem, 2pac and 50cent and local acts such as Skwatta Kamp, Mr.Selwin, Zola and Slovas. What makes him stand out from the rest is the fact that he infuses a mixture of raw, hard edged lyrical content with his experiences, his style is mature and appeals to a wide audience. __________________________________________________________ Having performed at many underground gigs and local hip-hop sessions all over Soweto and some parts of the East-rand (GP), Infamous has taken his music to higher levels like a live TV performance on Etv’s Sunrise morning show with Penny Lebyane, radio airplay on local and internet radio stations. His mixtapes are all over the internet with thousands of downloads, easy to download and stream even from his website. His current project is a mix of the new hip-hop rap style used by most international artists especially with the beats but infusing his old school style of rap, bringing new school and old school hip-hop together. His latest offering “Quarter-life crisis” is said to be his most personal work as every song is a part of his life and history, lyrics that touch many aspects of his life such as how he grew up, his current situation as well as struggles and achievements he has had through his musical caree
