30 December 2023	Daniel Hrycyszyn, 35	Joe Michael Williams, 19	Hotel Central, 17 Maiden Street, Weymouth	Charged with murder, awaiting trial	Currently unknown	Dorset Police received a report at 11.07pm on Saturday 30 December 2023 relating to an incident where Hrycyszyn required medical assistance at the Hotel Central in Maiden Street. He was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 12am on Sunday 31 December 2023. Williams, from Weymouth was charged with murder. He appeared at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 3 January 2024.
26 August - 6 September 2023*	Simon Shotton, 49	Debbie Ann Pereira, 38 Benjamin Lee Atkins, 48	Boscombe -Manor Steps Zig Zag*, Manor Road*, Aylesbury Road* and Boscombe Chine Gardens*	Charged with murder with a trial date set for 10 April 2024	Currently unknown	On 26 August, a member of the public located a bag containing human legs. Other remains were located across four other locations in the Boscombe area. Scientific analysis discovered they belonged to Shotton. Pereira and Atkins were charged with murder and are due to appear at a pre-trial hearing on 20 October.
5 August 2023	Cameron Hamilton, 18	Thomas Betteridge, 18	The Square, Bournemouth	Charged with murder with a trial date set for 29 January 2024	Currently unknown	During the early hours of 5 August, Hamilton was stabbed by Betteridge in Bournemouth Town Centre. He is due to stand trial for murder and possession of a bladed article on 29 January 2024.
12 May 2023	Stephanie Hodgkinson, 34	Alberto Fioletti, 31	Rosemount Road, Bournemouth	Life imprisonment with a minimum of 15 years	Domestic (partners)	On 12 May 2023, Hodgkinson died from a single stab wound to her chest, after being stabbed eight times by Fioletti at her flat in Bournemouth. Fioletti attended her flat and as Hodgkinson was attempting to end the relationship, he punched her, before stabbing her. After stabbing Hodgkinson, Fioletti proceeded to stab himself, calling for an ambulance. Fioletti pleaded guilty to manslaughter on the ground of diminished responsibility, but this was rejected by the prosecution and the jury and he was found guilty of murder.
16 December 2022	Daniel Upson, 47	Alex Banda, 28	Frances Road, Bournemouth	Life imprisonment with a minimum term of 14 years and 4 months (for Upson's murder and assault on another male)	Housemates	On 16 December, Upson was punched, had his head kicked and was stamped on by Banda at shared accommodation. This was after Banda accused Upson of stealing drugs from him. After attaching Upson, Banda assaulted another male by punching him, who also lived the same address. Upson was pronounced dead the next day.
12 March 2022	Thomas Roberts, 21	Lawangeen Abdulrahimzai, 21 (date of birth given to him by the Home Office was 2005)	Old Christchurch Road, Bournemouth	Life imprisonment with a minimum term of 29 years	Strangers	During the early hours of 12 March, Roberts was out with a friend in Bournemouth Town Centre, when his friend got into a dispute with Abdulrahimzai over a rental e-scooter. Roberts intervened as a 'peacemaker', but was stabbed by Abdulrahimzai. After the verdict, it was reported that Abdulrahimzai had murdered two people whilst in Serbia using a Kalishnikov rifle whilst fleeing Afghanistan to the United Kingdom.
31 December 2021	Edward Reeve, 35	Jack Hindley, 16 Samuel Jones, 17	Heath Road, Walkford, Christchurch	Life imprisonment with a minimum of 18 years	Acquaintances	On 31 December, Hindley and Jones, (both aged 16 at the time of the offence), stabbed Reeve at his home address. Reeve was a vulnerable man who had invited Hindley and Jones to his address two days after meeting them.
7 April 2021	Sir Richard Lexington Sutton, 9th Baronet, 83	Thomas Shrieber, 34	Moorhill Estate, Higher Langham, near Gillingham, Dorset	Life imprisonment with a minimum of 36 years (for Sir Sutton's murder, the attempted murder of Shrieber and dangerous driving)	Family (step-father and step-son)	On 7 April, Shrieber stabbed Sir Sutton, his stepfather, multiple times at his home address, which he shared with his mother, Anne. Shrieber also attacked his mother, severely injuring her. After the attacks, Shrieber fled from the address and was pursued by police at high speed from Gillingham, along the A303, A4 and M3 at speeds of 135mph, before being stopped on Chiswick High Road, Chiswick, London. Shrieber was angered that his mother had moved in with Sir Sutton, abandoning his late father.

3 June 2023	Elizabeth Richings, 83	Grenville Richings, 83	Roscrea Drive, Christchurch	18 months in prison, suspended for 2 years	Domestic (current partners)	On 3 June, at approximately 7pm, police received a call regarding concerns for an elderly woman's welfare. Police and the ambulance service attended and 83-year-old Elizabeth Richings was pronounced dead at the scene. Her husband, Grenville, also 83-years-old, was arrested on suspicion of murder and taken to hospital for treatment. Grenville, a retired police officer, strangled Elizabeth in an act of mercy, before attempting to kill himself. He had become 'deeply desperate' because of Elizabeth's 'constant pain and failing health'. Elizabeth could only recognise her children by their voices and was blind, having suffered chronic pain after a number of falls, previously breaking her back in May 2023. He pleaded guilty to manslaughter by diminished responsibility.
14 January 2022	Michael Bastable, 56	Damien Johnson, 31 Hayden Johnson, 29 Dominic MacDonald, 30	Alleyway off Shelbourne Road that runs parallel to the A338 Wessex Way	22 years (Damien and Hayden Johnson) and 18 years (MacDonald) imprisonment	Unknown	On 14 January, a member of the public located Bastable, unresponsive in an alleyway. Paramedics declared him deceased at the scene, with their tests showing Bastable had suffered a 'gastro-intestinal bleed'. Initially, police didn't treat his death as suspicious, however, this changed after Bastable's brother found that his brother's bike was missing, had found items that belonged to his brother in the alleyway, as well as Bastable's bank card having been used after he had died. A post-mortem revealed that Bastable had injuries consistent with being jumped or stamped on. Damien Johnson, Hayden Johnson and Dominic MacDonald, 30 pleaded guilty to manslaughter, as well as robbery related to items they took from Bastable and an unrelated victim.
9 December 2020	Marta Vento, 27	Stephen Cole, 32	Travelodge, Christchurch Road	Detained indefinitely under the Mental Health Act	Strangers	During the morning of 9 December, Vento was attacked by Cole with a set of clippers, whilst she was working on the reception of a Travelodge hotel. After killing Vento, he walked into Bournemouth Police Station saying 'I just killed someone'. Cole was found to be suffering from psychosis at the time of the incident and pleaded guilty to manslaughter by reason of diminished responsibility.
13 September 2020	Carl Woolley, 33	Stephen Jefferies, 59	The Avenue car park, Bournemouth	6 years imprisonment	Strangers	At approximately 9:45pm on 13 September, Jefferies had been involved in a ‘verbal altercation’ near to the Flirt Cafe in The Triangle with a group of people. Having been drinking, he made homophobic and xenophobic comments towards members of the public. A member of the group was Woolley, who told Jefferies that if he didn’t ‘shut up’ he would ‘hurt him’. It was at this point that Jefferies walked away towards The Avenue car park. Woolley followed him as he walked away, before punching him in the face. The punch caused Jefferies to collapse, where he suffered a ‘serious and traumatic’ head injury due to the fall. Woolley returned to the scene the day after and handed himself in to police there.
9 May 2020	Claire Parry, 41	Timothy Brehmer, 41	Horns Inn Car Park, West Parley, Dorset	13 years and 6 months imprisonment	Domestic (affair)	Parry, from Bournemouth, Dorset, England, was killed by off-duty Dorset Police officer Brehmer. Brehmer strangled Parry to death after fearing she would reveal the affair they were having to his wife. Brehmer admitted manslaughter but denied murder. He was acquitted of murder and convicted of manslaughter.

28 June 2022	Wendy Morris, 76	Edward Morris, 79	Gifle View Thornford, near Sherborne	Not arrested or sentenced - committed suicide before police arrival	Domestic (current partners)	On 28 June, emergency services located the bodies of Wendy and Edward Morris at their home address, after Edward Morris had called the ambulance service saying that his wife having had a heart attack. When the ambulance service arrived, the front door was 'slightly ajar'. On entering, a paramedic discovered the Morris' bodies with gunshot wounds to the head. It was believed that Edward had shot his wife whilst she was in bed, before shooting himself with a double barrel shotgun, that was located next to him.
1 April 2021	Sherrie Milnes, 51	Steven Doughty, 54	Heron Court, Ranelagh Road, Weymouth	No trial - suspect killed himself prior to arrest	Domestic (ex-partners)	On 1 April, after 12:20pm, Doughty entered Milnes flat and strangled her, then stabbing her in her neck and chest, multiple times. An hour later, Doughty left the address, disposing of the knife and Milnes' mobile, before returning to his home address where he killed himself by hanging. The day before her murder, Milnes had called Dorset Police via 101 to make a complaint of Doughty harassing her. Police originally arranged to meet Milnes a few days after she was murdered.
January 21 2021*	Nicholas Kyle, 46 Amanda Kyle, 54	Unknown	Dorchester Road, Upton, Poole	No suspicious circumstances - deaths recorded as 'unascertained'	Domestic (current partners)	On 21 January, the bodies of the Kyle's were found at their home. They had been dead for some time, meaning the pathologist listed their deaths as 'unascertained'. Police determined there were ' no suspicious circumstances or any third party involvement' in the Kyle's deaths.
10 August 2020	Gary Ballett, 66	Christopher Stocks, 54	Trinidad House, Rossmore Road, Poole	Not sentenced - died during trial	Residents (different blocks)	On the evevning of 9 August, Ballett returned to his shletered-living accommodation, entering Stocks' flat. Within the flat, Stocks stabbed Ballet, before putting the knife is the washing machine. The day before, police had been called to a report of a noise complaint. Stocks was charged with Ballet's murder. His defence was that he had acted in self-defence and had diminished responsibility. Stocks' trial was postponed when he caught Covid-19. He was admitted to hospital from prison on February 12 2021, before dying on March 10. At Ballet's inquest, despite Dorset's senior coroner Rachael Griffin being sure that Ballet didn't have a weapon when he entered Stocks' flat, Mr Stocks' account of what happened was never tested in court. Due to this and witnesses having been drinking, there wasn't a reliable account of what happened. Although the Stocks was charged with murder, he died during trial and was therefore not sentenced. The coroner at the Ballett's inquest said it would be 'unsafe' as to whether he was lawfully or unlawfully killed, as Stocks' defence that he had acted in 'self-defence' and had 'diminished responsibility', hadn't been tested in court. Instead, Ballett's death was recorded as a 'narrative conclusion'.
30 June 2020	James Cutting, 31	Unnamed 16-year-old boy	Boscombe Chine Gardens, Boscombe	Not guilty	Unknown	On 30 June 2020, Cutting attended Boscombe Chine Gardens with another male to buy drugs. When there, Cutting was involved in an altercation with a 16-year-old male, who was there with a 19-year-old male. The 16-year-old male stabbed Cutting in the chest and stabbed Cutting's friend in his neck and upper body. The The 16-year-old was charged with murder and two offences of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs. At court, he said that he had acted in self-defence, after Cutting and the other male 'set upon' him. In relation to drug supply charges, he stated a county lines drug gang had exploited him and the 19-year-old male. This latter claim was heard by the authority responsible for tackling exploitation and abuse, the Single Competent Authority (SCA), via the National Referral Mechanism (NRM). It found that both the 16-year-old and 19-year-old male were victims of modern slavery, having been forced into criminality. As a result, the 16-year-old male was found not guilty of murder.
19 June 2020	Fabio Menegon, 45	Giuseppe Zerega, 31	Eldon Place, Westbourne, Bournemouth	Found not guilty of murder, attempted murder and manslaughter by reason of insanity. Detained indefinitely under the Mental Health Act	Family	At 2:20am on 19 June, police were called by the ambulance service who had discovered Menegon with stab wounds. Two other people had been stabbed, but received non life-threatening injuries. Menegon was pronounced dead at the scene. Police loacted Zerega in a neighbouring property's garden and he was arrested. Mental health professionals conducted an assessment and he was detained under the Mental Health Act, throughout the investigation, charge, trial and after the verdict.

26 August 2019	Sharon Perrett, 37	Daniel O'Malley-Keyes, 39	Park Gardens, Christchurch	Life imprisonment with a minimum of 18 years	Domestic (current partners)	During the early hours of 26 August, O'Malley-Keyes attacked his girlfriend Perrett at her flat, causing her multiple head, chest and neck injuries. They had both been out for drinks with friends in the Southbourne area to celebrate his birthday. At 2:17am, O'Malley-Keyes phoned his mother and explained that Perrett was not breathing and he didn't know what to do. O'Malley-Keyes mother attended Perrett's flat and at 2:43am, called 999 herself, after O'Malley-Keyes stated he was 'scared' to call an ambulance himself. Perrett was pronounced dead at her flat by paramedics. Dorset Police changed their domestic abuse policy about how victims should be contacted. After the murder, an Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) investigation revealed that whilst Dorset Police had made 'genuine attempts' to contact Perrett after she reported when attending hospital that she'd been threatened and assaulted several times by O'Malley-Keyes. Dorset Police had prior contact with the couple in April 2018, after a member of the public reported a disturbance involving O'Malley-Keyes, but no officers found no crime had been committed.
21 May 2019	Robert Hodgson, 72	Dominic Hodgson, 37	Ridgeway, Sherborne	Life imprisonment with a minimum term of 14 years	Family (father and son)	On 21 May, Dominic Hodgson murdered his father, Robert, by battering him with a dumbbell. Robert had reluctantly let Dominic stay at the address after he had nowhere to live. Dominic was addicted to inhaling lighter fluid and at the time of the killing, had hallucinated, thinking his father had 'turned evil'. After attacking his father, Dominic called emergency serviced at 5:11pm, stating 'I've just murdered my dad'.
8 July 2018*	Stela Domador-Kuzma, 34	Ryan Thornton, 20	Mount Heatherbank Flats, Richmond Gardens, Bournemouth	Life imprisonment with a minimum term of 22 years and six months (for Domador-Kuzma's murder and 11 charges of posessing indecent images of children)	Flatmates	At some time between 7 July and 8 July, Thornton smoked cannabis, as well as using his computer to watch a violent pornography film, depicting a woman being bound and forced to have sex. Thornton entered Domador-Kuzma's room in the flat they shared, armed with a kitchen knife and masking tape. When Thornton attempted to rape Domador-Kuzma, she screamed out. He attacked Domador-Kuzma, stabbing her 17 times. At some stage, Thornton had cut off her vest top. After stabbing Domador-Kuzma, Thornton had sex with her body. Police attended the area at approximately 5am, finding Thornton had injuries to his knee and hand. Thornton stated he'd been attacked in woodland after smoking cannabis. However, police searched his flat, locating Domador-Kuzma's body and a blood-stained kitchen knife. As part of the investigation, Thornton's laptop was seized, where it was found to contain indecent images of children.
30 April 2017	Guy Hedger, 61	Jason Baccus, 42 Kevin Downton, 40	David's Lane, Castlewood, Ashley	Life imprisonment with a minimum term of 34 years (for murder, aggravated burglary with a firearm, possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and two burglaries of industrial buildings)	Strangers	At approximately 3am on 30 April, Baccus and Downton entered Hedger's address. Wearing masks, they entered the bedroom, forcing Hedger and his husband out of bed and to face the wall. Hedger was in the process of telling the burglars the code for their personal safe, but froze. The alarms went off and Downton shot Hedger with a sawn-off shotgun. Baccus and Downton fled the address with jewellery and other valuable items, including watches and designer bags, getting into a getaway car driven by another male. Stolen items were located in undergrowth and parts of the sawn-off shotgun were located in the River Stour. Discarded cigarettes near to Hedger's address contained Baccus' DNA. A mobile phone and SIM card linked to the raid, as well as a scarf containing gunshot residue were located inside Downton's Vauxhall Astra.
13 December 2016 (located with head injuries on Charminster Road) 22 December 2016 (died in hospital from injuries)	Hayley Wall, 25	Christopher Wall, 58	Shelbourne Road, Charminster	Life imprisonment with a minimum term of 14 years	Family and domestic (niece and nephew and partners)	On 13 December, Hayley Wall was found with head injuries on Charminster Road, Charminster. It was thought that she had been stuck by a television, as before losing conciousness, Hayley told a paramedic 'my partner smashed a TV over the top of my head'. A damaged flat screen TV was later found within her address. Hayley potentially had been hit with a door that was found ripped off it's hinges, as it contained a blood-stain as well as two long hairs embedded in it. Neighbours had heard her partner Christopher Wall (who was Hayley's uncle), shot 'is this how you want to be treated?', then hearing repeated thuds. Christopher Wall was located on the evening Hayley was injured. His back had been stabbed and Christopher claimed that he had used reasonable force to defend himself after being attacked by Hayley. Hayley died in hospital from her injuries on 22 December
1 October 2016	Natasha Wake, 26	Jay Nava, 27	Harley Gardens, Bournemouth	Life imprisonment with a minimum term of 21 years	Domestic (current partners)	On the evening of 1 October 2016, Wake and her partner Nava had argued at her home whilst drinking. The argument may have been provoked from Wake discovering that police had investigated Nava in May 2016 about an allegation of him sexually assaulting another woman (however, the weekend Wake was killed, Nava was told the case was being dropped). Wake was stabbed 11 times in her chest and neck by Nava. Hearing a scream, a child at the house went downstairs and found Nava with a knife in his pocket and Wake covered with a blanket on the floor. Nava sent her back to bed. After killing Wake, Nava cleaned the walls, hiding Wake in a cupboard in a duvet. Nava told the child the next day that it was a 'game' and that Wake had gone shopping. Later, Nava called his mother confessing that he'd killed Wake. After writing some notes that he left in the address, Nava went to Hengistbury Head where he attempted to kill himself as officers approached him, but was resuscitated. Nava was described as having an 'underlying narcissistic personality disorder' that 'substantially impaired' how he controlled his behaviour.
15 Septmber 2016	Hayley Dean, 38	James D'Arcy, 50	Gainslea Court, Derby Road, Bournemouth	Life imprisonment with a minimum term of 20 years	Domestic (current partners)	On 15 September, Dean had a duvet rwarpped over her head by her partner D'Arcy, before he hit her head multiple times with a sledgehammer by her partner D'Arcy. Neighbours had heard a 'slow and steady deep thud' approximately 15 times, with 10 to 15 second intervals. This was after Dean was heard to shout 'get out of my flat'. After killing Dean, he slept with her through the night, admitting what he had done to a friend the next day. This friend then drove him to Bournemouth Police Station, where he confessed that he'd 'pummelled her head into a pizza' and that 'she will never fuck with anyone again'. D'Arcy admitted killing Dean, however, claimed diminished responsibility due to his 'alcoholism'.
26 May 2016	Harry House, 2	Jospeh Eke, 22	Broadmayne	Life imprisonment with a minimum of 18 years (as well as a concurrent sentence of 2 years for grievous bodily harm)	Family (son of partner)	On 26 May, 2-year-old House was attacked by Eke, punching and kicking him. He attacked House after his mother (Eke's then partner) had gone out shopping. House died after his pancreas was split in two due to blunt force trauma to his abdomen. His skull was fractured which was 'potentially fatal'. After House died, Eke, a heroin addict, also attacked his mother after she refused to give him money for drugs. It was discovered that House had suffered 'at least three traumatic events' the week before he died, whereby his ribs had been fractured, resulting in Eke also being convicted of grievous bodily harm (GBH).
8 April 2016	Julian Hinz, 3-months-old	Robert Hinz, 34	Carysfort Road, Bournemouth	Life imprisonment with a minimum term of 21 years (for murder, one count of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and two counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent)	Family (father and son)	On 8 April, Julian was killed by his father, Robert, when he was thrown 'vigorously against a hard surface'. At the time of the incident, neighbours heard 'shouting, arguing and a loud thud'. Julian suffered 'at least 42 fractures, including to his ribs, as well as brain trauma in the three months between his birth and death'. Robert Julian's mother had placed him in a cot to sleep, before leaving Robert, Julian and his uncle at home to go shopping. Approximately 15 minutes after his wife left, Robert was heard to shout 'call an ambulance, he's not breathing'. Robert carried out CPR, whilst his uncle called 999. Paramedics arrived, seeing Robert 'punching a wall before throwing a cupboard across the room', When police arrived, they stopped Robert following the ambulance in his car, due to smelling intoxicants on his breath. Julian was taken to the Royal Bournemouth Hospital, before being transferred to the paediatric intensive care unit at Southampton Hospital, where staff made the decision to turn off his life support and he died on 9 April. Robert denied killing his son, but admitted that he found it difficult to control his anger.
7 January 2016	Katrina O'Hara, 44	Stuart Thomas, 50	Blandford Forum	Life imprisonment with a minimum of 26 years	Family (partner's son)	On 7 January 2016, O'Hara was stabbed twice in her chest by her ex-partner Thomas whilst working at Jocks Barbers. He had 'lain in wait' for O'Hara in an alleyway and on seeing her smoking a cigarette outside the barbers, confronted her, chasing her into the salon before attacking her. After the attack, he cut his wrists. Thomas was married and had been having an affair with O'Hara since May 2015. However, on discovering he was married, O'Hara had attempted to end the relationship in the autumn of that year. O'Hara had attempted to leave Thomas many times, however, each time she tried he'd persuade her to return to him, promising to leave his wife or telling O'Hara he'd harm himself. Days before her murder, O'Hara reported Thomas to police and he was arrested after sending O'Hara 'many messages' that pleaded for her to take him back. The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) and Domestic Homicide Review launched investigations after O'Hara was murdered, which identified 'serious concerns' in the service Dorset Police provided O'Hara as a victim of domestic abuse.
8 November 2015	Abdal Rahman Al-Rabia, 23	Nicholas Price, 43	Bath Street, Weymouth	Life imprisonment with a minimum of 20 years (Murder of Al-Rabia and attempted murder of Ryan Smith)	Acquaintances	On 7 November, Al-Rabia, and his friend Smith and a 16-year-old boy met up with Price. The three intended to return to London via a train that evening, however, on missing this, Price let all of them stay at his flat. They fell asleep on the living room sofa. The next morning, Smith awoke to find Price holding a kitchen knife and hammer, standing over him. Price attacked Smith, stabbing him in the chest. It appeared that Price thought that Smith was a police officer, saying something to Smith like 'You're the Old Bill'. As Al-Rabia tried to intervene and calm Price down, Price stabbed him in the chest, causing a fatal injury. His body was discovered at the flat at approximately 8am that day. Price denied the charges against him, stating he was acting in self defence.
20 June 2015	Jennifer Williams, 25	Stefan Mayne, 26	Colehill Crescent, Muscliffe	Life imprisonment with a minimum term of 27 years	Sex worker and client	On 20 June, Williams was stabbed multiple times by Mayne at her home. Williams had become a sex worker at some time after February 2014, after losing her job. She became the subject of an obsession by Mayne, after he became a client of hers in the summer of 2014, as he wanted a 'more personal' relationship'. Williams agreed to meet Mayne at 4pm on 20 June but had told him to 'stop pestering' her after previously rejecting his invitation for dinner. Before attending her address, Mayne attended a Tesco store and bought a packet of knives the night before he met Williams. He also researched last minute transport options, including flights, trains and ferry crossings. Searches on his computer also included looking for videos of attacks on women. Whilst Mayne was inside the property, William's neighbour heard raised voices inside her address. Mayne stabbed Williams eight times. After this, Williams fled her house, with her screams alerting parents at a nearby children's birthday party. A witness called 999 and ran outside to help Williams. Mayne attempted to flee, but was detained by William's neighbours after being chased. Despite being restrained, Mayne attempted to get away several times before he was arrested.
26 May 2015	Phillip Nicholson, 22	Richard Moors, 26 Isabella Gossling, 20	Mallard Grange, Sea Road, Boscombe	Life imprisonment with a minimum term of 22 years (Moors) and 19 years (Gossling)	Acquaintances	On 26 May, vulnerable man Nicholson was lured to Gossling's flat on the pretence of meeting another woman. When he arrived, he was stabbed by Moors, dying from a single stab wound to his neck. Prior to his death, the couple had stolen £800 from Nicholson's bank account. Gossling had made a recording of the attack on her mobile phone, which captured Nicholson saying 'stop' as well as her telling Moors to 'go on. Do what you need to do'. After attacking Nicholson, the pair were heard to discuss how they could leave Nicholson's body, making it look like he had stabbed himself.
25 March 2015*	Sarah Pollock, 41	Colin Dymond, 53	Avon Close, Springbourne	Life imprisonment with a minimum term of 16-and-a-half years	Domestic (ex-partners)	At 3:26pm on 25 March, Pollock's body was discovered by police on the bed at her home address, after they forced entry to her flat as she hadn't arrived at work as expected. She had been strangled and stabbed twice in the neck by her ex-partner, Dymond, after he discovered a text on Pollock's phone from another man. There were no signs of forced entry and Dymond had let himself into the property with a key he had. After killing Pollock, he travelled to Eastleigh, before returning to the flat and writing 'the price you pay Sarah for having 4 affairs, I have killed myself...I have tried everything, sorry I snapped, so many lives devastated, now I am so sorry, you were my life, I worshipped you, rest in peace, all my love'. At 10:12pm the saem day, Dymond was arrested, with Pollock's blood on the cover of his mobile phone. After Dymond was arrested, his Peugeot 308 hire car was located in the car park of a London underground station. Within it was 'significant evidence, including a blood stained jumper'. Having been in a relationship for approximately five years, Pollock had discovered at the end of June 2014 that Dymond had been having a relationship with someone else. Pollock started a relationship with a different man in the weeks before she was killed, attempting to 'end all contact with Dymond'. She had previously talked about Dymond's 'controlling and threatening behaviour' to her friends.
21 January 2015 30 January 2015*	Samantha Henderson, 25	Dominic Isom, 28	Halves Cottages, Corfe Castle	Life imprisonment with a minimum term of 17 years	Domestic (current partners)	At some time after 21 January but before 27 January, Henderson was killed by her partner Isom. Isom killed Henderson in a shed outside her address, with Henderson receiving 23 injuries to her head and body before she died. Isom then travelled from Corfe Castle with Henderson's body in his vehicle to Hamworthy, stopping to buy cannabis, before dumping her body a lake at Ham Common in Hamworthy, Poole. Later, he called 999 to report Henderson missing as well as leaving her a message on voicemail. On 22 January, Henderson was reported missing from her home in Corfe Castle. She was last seen at approximately 3pm the day before outside a local primary school, after going on a school run. On 27 January, despite Henderson's body having not been found, Isom was charged with her murder. On 30 January, at approximately 1pm, Henderson's body was located in a lake on Ham Common in Hamworthy, Poole. Her body had been wrapped in plastic and a child's duvet, being weighed down by metal items and stone slabs. Isom claimed that he had found Henderson attempting to strangle one of her children and that he acted in self-defence. He explained that as he had tried to pull her away, Henderson had struck her head, before strangling him. He then stated he strangled her until she released him. When he returned to her 25 minutes later, she had died. He stated he panicked and instead of calling for an ambulance, dumped her body in the lake.
23 May 2014	Rui Li, 44	Pierre Legris, 61	Burnham Drive, Bournemouth	Life imprisonment with a minimum of 25 years (Murder of Li, perverting the course of justice and bigamy)	Domestic (current partners)	On 23 May 2014, Li was bludgeoned to death by her husband Legris, who wanted to gain her £300,000 life insurance policy after having 'desperate' finances. Li had last been seen alive after leaving work at Poole Hospital, where she worked as a nurse. After killing Li, Legris stored her body in a Ford Transit van, wrapped in a plastic sheet, where it remained over the May Bank Holiday weekend. He then moved her body to the boot of his son's Fiat Punto on 27 May. He instructed his son to drive her body to Verwood Crescent, Bournemouth, where it was discovered on 30 May. Legris denied Li's murder, admitting perverting the course of justice and bigamy (he had married Li in 2007, although was still married to his first wife since 1987).
12 December 2013	Linda Lietaviete, 16	Alvin Santos, 26	Horseshoe Common, Bournemouth	Life imprisonment with a minimum term of 20 years	Acquaintances	On 12 December, Lietaviete was stabbed seven times by Santos, as well as receiving a number of lacerations. She had wounds suggesting she had defended herself. Lietaviete and Santos were friends since she was 14-years-old, with Santos having previously wanted a relationship, with her just wanting to remain friends. After Santos suggested meeting for a drink, the pair met up at 7:34pm. After Santos bought alcohol, the pair sat on a common in the town centre. Just after 11pm, Santos returned home and his sister saw him 'acting strangely', not wearing clothes, before he left the house with a plastic bag. At approximately 11:30pm, Lietaviete's friend returned to the house they shared and discovered she wasn't there. After attempting to locate her, she reported her missing after midnight. An hour later, Santos returned home, lay crying on the floor and repeatedly said "I'm sorry', telling his sister he had 'stabbed a female'. His sister called emergency services, telling them to go to Horseshoe Common as 'a woman needed help'. Lietaviete's body was located, partially clothed and buried under leaves by paramedics during the early hours of 13 December, after they followed 'drag marks', following them to a wooded area. Santos was arrested, describing Santos as 'incoherent' and asking one of them 'can you kill me without hurting me?' and 'kill me'. In a bin nearby, police located clothing and a white handbag, discovering a knife close to Santos' house. Santos told police during interview that he became 'as angry as it is possible to be', when he was told by Lietaviete that she 'was responsible for an assault against him' that occurred a few years before, which left him with a broken jaw and other injuries, including how he blacked out when angry, stating this happened on the night he attacked Lietaviete. He stated when he 'came around', he attempted to conceal Lietaviete's body and had tried to get rid of her clothing by removing them. He was in possession of a knife due to being nervous from the previous assault and didn't call 999 because 'they wouldn't believe that I accidentally stabbed her'. Santos admitted manslaughter but denied murder.
27 May 2013	Rico Dardis, 30	Paul Gerlach, 52 Louis Borzoni, 50	Groynes at Seaway Avenue, Christchurch*	Life imprisonment with a minimum term of 17 years (Gerlach) and 15 years (Borzoni)	Acquaintances	On 27 May, Dardis had been with Gerlach and Borzoni, on Gerlach's boat, 'No Chance', when he was pushed into the water by them, after a fight. Whilst taunting and circling him, Dardis drowned, with Gerlach and Borzoni running over his body, with the propeller of the boat, dismembering him. Dardis' body was located at groynes near to Seaway Avenue. In a secret recording, Gerlach was heard to tell his wife 'I killed him, I killed him...I ran him over with the boat. Yeah, I murdered him...and I'm not remorseful'.
16 May 2013	William Spiller, 48	Nathan Robinson, 27	Stedman Road, Southbourne	Life imprisonment with a minimum term of 30 years	Family (father and son)	On 16 May, Robinson stabbed his father, Spiller, using a Stanley knife, killing him in the flat they shared. His father pleaded for an ambulance, but Robinson ignored him, instead, slashing his face and torso with a knife. The struggle and Spiller asking for an ambulance was heard by a neighbour downstairs. Robinson cut up Spiller using a saw and hacksaw, splitting Spiller's body parts between five storage boxes, then used the boxes as a TV stand. He placed his father's head in a box within a filing cabinet. Spiller stole approximately £10,000 from his father, using approximately £8,000 of it and tried to convince his father's girlfriend and friend that he was still alive by using Spiller's mobile to text them. On 17 June, a neighbour noticed hundreds of bluebottles around a windows of the block of flats. Robinson was arrested and claimed that his father had sexually abused him along with other men when he was a child, resulting in him having post traumatic stress disorder. However, a 'more likely' motive was the fact that Robinson owed his father £36,000.
27 July 2012	Angelo Rodrigues, 45	Tracey Ann Mansell, 54 James Kinsley, 40	Coleman Road, Kinson	Life imprisonment with a minimum of 16 years (Mansell) and 14 years (Kinsley)	Neighbours	On 27 July, Rodrigues was murdered by couple Mansell and Kinsley, who beat and stabbed him multiple times with a blade from a pair of scissors. The couple and Rodrigues were neighbours, with evidence describing Rodrigues as a ‘difficult and disturbed neighbour’. He behaved anti-socially by swearing and shouting abuse, throwing furniture into Mansell’s garden, who lived in the flat below him. On the night of his murder, having been drinking heavily, Mansell ‘flew into a rage’, arming herself with a scissor blade and getting into a row with Rodrigues, after running upstairs to his flat. Kinsley followed, where he was hit on the back by Rodrigues with a cable bike lock. Pushing Rodrigues through his hallway, Kinsley and Mansell got him onto his bed, whereby Kinsley pinned his arms and repeatedly punched him in the face, whilst Mansell stabbed him a total of 25 times. Mansell admitted manslaughter by reason of diminished responsibility, however, this plea wasn't accepted. Mansell explained how Rodrigues had called her a 'whore' and 'spat in her face', to which she stabbed him.
21 July 2012	Leah Whittle, 42	Kieren Smith, 17	Benville Road, Weymouth	Life imprisonment with a minimum term of 15 years	Family (mother and son)	On 21 July, 16-year-old Smith stabbed his mother Whittle 94 times at her home. After the attack, he changed out of blood stained clothes and fled the address down the drainpipe. He phoned the police at 1:04pm on 22 July but cut the call when the police asked for details. Although Smith had a fascination with knives, the motive for the murder is unknown. Smith claimed that he wasn't responsible and that men from Doncaster travelled to the address due to his brother getting into a drug debt, with these men executing his mother.
7 June 2012	Geoffrey Reed, 57	Stuart Wareham, 26 Lee Wareham, 33 Benjamin Walter, 22	Cecil Road, Boscombe	Life imprisonment with a minimum term of 20 years (Stuart Wareham) and 18 years (Lee Wareham and Walter)	Flatmates	On 7 June, Reed was beaten to death by Stuart and Lee Wareham (half brothers) and Walter. The trio killed Reed at the flat he shared with Stuart Wareharm and after killing him, they buried his body in a shallow grave at one of the suspect's grandmother's house, within a suitcase, in Lytchett Matravers. They told police that Reed had gone to Weymouth. Reed was a convicted sex offender, having raped two people including a child. Stuart Wareham had previously boasted in a letter whilst in prison 'there's one more paedo off the street so he can't prey on any more little kids'. It was believed that Reed was not killed because of this, but for his killers to have access over his flat (Lee Wareham and Watler were of no fixed address) and have some of his money. The trial judge stated that it was Stuart Wareham who was 'principally responsible' for Reeds death, but that Lee Wareham and Walter were 'willing participants'.
Night between 27 and 28 December 2011	Martin Andrew Rusling, 43	Carol Kemp, 44	Park Road, Easton	Life imprisonment with a minimum term of 13 years	Domestic (current partner)	On the night between 27 and 28 December, Rusling was stabbed by Kemp, a woman who he had met on an online dating site. The couple had spent Christmas together, but Rusling had told Kemp he was having second thoughts about letting her move in with him. After this row, he was stabbed. At 1:20am on 28 December, Kemp called 999 and cried, stating that Rusling 'was not moving'. Police attended and she was arrested on suspicion of murder. On the way to Weymouth custody, Kemp said she had 'not meant to kill' Rusling and that she 'didn't press that hard', as well as talking about having had an argument about Rusling changing his mind about living together. Kemp later stated that Rusling had been fatally injured when she had been trying to kill herself.
6 July 2011	Glyn Helliwell, 42	Jake Brand, 21	Parkwood Road, Southbourne	Life imprisonment with a minimum term of 23 years	Strangers	During the early hours of July 6, Helliwell was stabbed by Brand, having been 'stalked' by Brand's brother, Danny, whilst walking along the road, after leaving The Grove pub. Helliwell was taken to the Royal Bournemouth Hospital, where he later died from a single stab wound. Brand later pawned a mobile phone he stole from Helliwell for £20. After recovering the phone, Brand was arrested. During his trial, Jake told the jury that it was Danny who stabbed Helliwell. He explained this version of events five months after the incident, in order to not get Danny into trouble. Whilst Danny was arrested, he was never charged. Both before and after Brand was convicted, his brother reportedly signed a confession letter, stating that it was him who stabbed Helliwell, acting in 'self-defence', claiming that Jake was 'innocent'. In 2013, the Court of Appeal dismissed an appeal by Jake. After this, the Brand's mother stated that Danny had told her he was responsible, stating 'I don’t want either of my sons to go to prison, I love them both, but if one is going to be in prison it should be the right one.' Dorset Police later stated they wouldn't comment on further appeals, stating that they were 'satisfied' with the result from the court case.
7 May 2011	Emily Longley, 17	Elliot Turner, 21	Queenswood Avenue, Strouden	Life imprisonment with a minimum of 16 years	Domestic (current partner)	On 7 May, Turner strangled Longley at his family's house during a 'jealous rage', believing that Longley was seeing another man behind his back Turner had attended a nightclub that Longley was at the night before he murdered her and made threats to her, armed with a lump hammer. Turner said that Longley had attacked him during an argument and that he had defended himself, grabbing Longley by the neck for 'five or six seconds' before pressing down on her as she lay on the bed in order to 'stop the attack'. When he awoke the next morning, he discovered Longley lying motionless next to him. It was 40 minutes before emergency services were called, after Turner's mother sent a message to his father that Longley had died. Turner was arrested at the address and police located a packed bag nearby and his passport in his pocket. Then Chief Constable of Dorset Police, Martin Baker, authorised for the Turner's house to be bugged after Turner was bailed. This revealed that Turner was guilty of the Longley's murder and that his parents had helped cover his tracks by destroying a confession letter. They were jailed for 27 months for perverting the course of justice.
27 January 2011	Kewen Khorsheed, 22	Mahmud Bakir, 29	Wimborne Road, Moordown	Life imprisonment with a minimum of 12 years	Unknown	During the early hours of 27 January, Khorsheed and Bakir had an altercation at Bark Zuke in Charmister. They decided to resolve the earlier dispute by fighting, however, Bakir armed himself with a knife from his flat. Khorsheed was stabbed by Bakir, dying from a single stab wound at Royal Bournemouth Hospital.
4 May 2010	Julie Bywater, 32	Alan Pickersgill, 37	Wayside Road, Southbourne	Life imprisonment with a minimum of 19 years	Domestic (ex-partners)	On the night of 4 May, Bywater was strangled by Pickersgill at his flat, after she offered to massage one another, to help him complete a massage course. He placed a cable tie around Bywater's neck and claimed that she had strangled herself accidentally in a 'sex game'. Police discovered Pickersgill in the room with Bywater's body, naked and with a cable tie around her neck, with no sign of a struggle to get the cable tie off her neck. Pickersgill denied rape and murder (the jury later didn't reach a verdict on the rape charge). Pickersgill was 'obsessed' with Bywater, installing CCTV in his bedroom and bathroom. When their relationship ended, he put a tracking device in her car. All of what Pickersgill did was unknown by Bywater.

Haw’s body was recovered on 14 May. An investigation was conducted between police and the Maritime and Coastguard Agency. Smith pleaded guilty to gross negligence manslaughter. His sentencing date is to be decided in October 2023.
23 October 2021	Clare Gafan, 40	Shaun Hall, 40	Suffolk Road, Bournemouth	12 years imprisonment	Unknown	At approximately 1:35pm on 23 October, Gafan was struck by an Audi A4, after Hall deliberately drove his car at a group of people she was with. The previous day, Hall had reportedly snatched a container from a man he'd arranged to meet. The next day, the same man was with Gafan and others, who Hall then accelerated towards. Gafan was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. Having struck Gafan, Hall fled, hiding the car in a secluded car park, waiting to travel out of the county under the cover of darkness. Hall was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after he was stopped in the Audi during the early hours of 24 October in Northamptonshire. However, Gafan died three days later on 26 October, with Hall being charged with manslaughter.
4 April 2020	David Thomson, 32	Mark Bosworth, 48	Courtyard of shared housing, Dorchester Road, Weymouth	6 years imprisonment	Housemates	During the afternoon of 4 April, a fight occurred in the courtyard of a house, whereby it was alleged Thomson had assaulted a female. At approximately 4:05pm, Thomson confronted Bosworth at the top of some stairs, leading to Thomas being pushed down the stairs. The owner of the shared housing called police at approximately 4:10, having seen the assault on CCTV. Police and the ambulance searches attended, finding Thomson unresponsive with a potentially life-threatening serious head injury. Thomson was taken to hospital and died the following morning. Bosworth stated that he pushed Thomson down the stairs, but didn’t intent for his to sustain any ‘lasting injuries’. He admitted that his judgement may have been clouded by drinking alcohol and that the force he exerted may have been ‘a bit too much’. Bosworth had previously been sentenced in 2016 for punching a police officer in the eye and head butting another during an incident where he was drunk and disorderly.
16 November 2019	Kai Archer, 20	Jamie Higgs, 19	Outside Bournemouth Pizza Co, St Swithun's Road, Bournemouth	8 years imprisonment and an additional three years on licence	Acquaintances	On the evening of 16 November, Archer and Higgs were socialising with each other at Archer's address. They walked to meet friends and as they walked to this meeting, Higgs hit Archer on the head with a bottle. Later at the meeting, just before 10pm, Archer told the others that he'd been bottled by Higgs. An altercation between the pair then occurred, with Higgs stabbing Archer three times. Archer was taken to hospital where he died. Higgs told the jury that he believed Archer was setting him up and he was acting in self-defence to protect himself. It was concluded that there was no pre-meditation or intention for Archer to be killed, but that Higgs' violence was 'unlawful and not reasonable'.Higgs was found not guilty of murder, but guilty of manslaughter.
6 September 2019	John Cornish, 75	Aaron Kirk Brown, 39 Hannah Jayne Rebecca Day, 29	Esplanade, Weymouth	14 years imprisonment (Day - for manslaughter, attempted robbery, theft of a bank card and four counts of fraud) 13-and-a-half-years imprisonment (Brown)	Day was given money and a place to stay in exchange for keeping Cornish company	On 6 September, Cornish was attacked as Brown and Day attempted to rob him. Inflicting 42 injuries to Cornish, including having a knife used to prod him and being beaten, Cornish had a fatal heart attack. Brown and Day wanted Cornish's bank card and PIN. In 2015, Cornish first met Day and in exchange for keeping him company, Cornish gave Day drug money for her heroin and crack cocaine addiction, as well as letting her stay in his seafront B&B. As time went on, in 2016, there were allegations that Day stole £21,000 from Cornish, and she punched him, smashing a bottle during an argument. Day 'regularly manipulated' Cornish, in three years taking £30,000 from him. According to Cornish's daughter, Cornish 'felt pressurised' to give money to Day, eventually becoming 'fearful of opening the door and felt like a prisoner in his own home'. On the night he died, Cornish was attacked by Brown and Day. Three hours after he died, Brown called an ambulance for Cornish, claiming that he was passing by Cornish’s address and was a ‘concerned citizen’. The following morning, Day ran into the street for help, before a member of the public and Day gave Cornish CPR, despite Day knowing he’d died the day before. In an attempt to cover their tracks, Brown and Day claimed that it was the other that was responsible for assaulting Cornish.
17 December 2018	Charles Taylor, 82	Matty Locks, 28	Phyldon Close, Poole	Detained indefinitely under the Mental Health Act	Family (step-grandson and step-grandfather)	At approximately 8pm on 17 December, Taylor was struck 'at least three times' by Locks, during a fight about a dog. After the attack, Locks told his support worker on the phone 'I have just hit my grandad with a lamp'. His support worker advised an ambulance was called, which Locks did. Locks was arrested at the scene and later charged with murder, after Taylor died on 1 January 2019. Locks was found guilty of manslaughter by diminished responsibility.

The police and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) carried out a joint investigation, whereby it was discovered vehicles and pedestrians weren’t segregated, with the site’s management described as ‘lax and complacent’, leading to working practices at the yard being unsafe.
14 August 2016	Ryan Merna, 29	Paul Taylor, 50	Greenwood Cottages, Wessex Road, Poole	Detained indefinitely under the Mental Health Act	Acquaintances	On 16 August, Taylor stabbed Merna 32 times at Merna’s address. Merna had met Taylor when they were both patients at St Ann’s psychiatric hospital. He had given Taylor a place to stay. Prior to the attack, Merna had asked Taylor to move out his address, packing his belongings in bin bags. A 999 call was made by Merna saying ‘someone is coming at me with a knife, I need help’. Police had been called at 1:35pm to reports of the sound of screaming and a fight taking place at a ground floor flat. On arrival, Taylor was seen leaving out the flats. He was challenged by an officer and as he stopped, he raised his hands, which were bloodstained. He said to the officer ‘best get in there. Hopefully he’s dead by now’. Merna was located with a knife in his chest and multiple stab wounds and died at the scene. Taylor told officers ‘I came here to murder him, he needs to pay for what he’s done.’ Taylor wrongly thought Merna had raped a woman, however, the woman involved denying there had been any sexual assault. When Taylor was arrested,  he replied ‘I hope I’ve murdered him. That would make my day. Go on cheer me up and tell me he’s dead’. At the time of the attack, Taylor was found to be suffering from a personality disorder. He was acquitted of murder but found guilty of manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility. An inquest recorded Merna was unlawfully killed. It later revealed that five days before Merna’s murder, during a meeting about housing, in the presence of a member of St Ann’s, Taylor had disclosed that he kept a knife for ‘protection’. The comment was not recorded in Taylors notes or reported to members of the Dorset Forensic Team, the department in charge of Taylor’s care. The coroner stated it was a ‘missed opportunity’ for Dorset Healthcare to reassess his risk, who accepted the finding.
25 May 2015	Elliot Handley, 46	Simon Alexander Bennett, 44	Compass House in The Grove, Dorchester	Detained indefinitely under the Mental Health Act	Unknown	Between 23 May and 26 May, Bennett attacked Handley in his flat, after befriending him and taking him back to his flat. A neighbour heard 'squeals' and an altercation on 25 May. Handley had died from ‘multiple blunt-force head injuries’ and his body was naked when it was found. Items believed to have been used in the attack included a ‘claw hammer, a heavy metallic object and a bottle’. After the attack, Bennett was seen to act ‘erratically’, having dried blood on his arms. He told people he had ‘fallen’. On 26 May, Handley’s body was located in Bennett’s flat. Bennett was arrested and told an officer ‘I must be more careful when I murder people’. Charged with Handley’s murder, Bennet admitted manslaughter by reason of diminished responsibility.  At the time of the attack, Bennet was suffering a ‘manic episode with psychotic symptoms’.
30 March 2014*	Mashael Albasman, 24	Faleh Ghazi Albasman, 59	St Michael's Road, Bournemouth	Detained indefinitely under the Mental Health Act	Family (father and daughter)	On 30 March, the body of Mashael Albasman was found at her flat. She had been stabbed 13 times by her father, Faleh, who claimed it was an 'honour killing' after his daughter 'disrespected' him after talking on her mobile phone. After killing her, Faleh stabbed himself in his neck and stomach, going to the nearby Manchester Hotel, telling staff to call police. Faleh admitted manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility, with psychiatrists finding he had paranoid psychosis. Faleh had misinterpreted how his daughter had acted after tension had built up between them, which let to a 'fatal outburst of aggression', as a result of an 'abnormality in mental function' from suffering a brain injury in the 1970's. A prison sentence was not deemed appropriate and instead Faleh was detained indefinitely under the Mental Health Act.
25 July 2012	Reece James-Menzies, 21	Kieron Wellington, 30 Wayne Stephenson, 34 Keifer Hutchinson, 23 Jarome Parkinson, 25	Flat at the junction of Roumelia Lane and Sea Road, Boscombe	16 years imprisonment (Wellington, Stephenson, Hutchinson) 18 years imprisonment (Parkinson), for manslaughter and five counts of supplying Class A drugs between June 25 and July 16 in Kent.	Gang-related	During the early hours of 25 July, James-Menzies was shot with a sawn-off shotgun in the head and killed in an address in Boscombe. Neighbours heard shouting and fighting coming from the flat where James-Menzies was staying, before a 'loud bang' and the smell of 'gunpowder'. The reason for James-Menzies death may have been 'jealousy and infidelity', after it emerged that James-Menzies friend had been having an affair with Wellington's girlfriend. Before his murder, in possession of a loaded gun, Hutchinson (introduced to the group to provide a gun), Stephenson and Parkinson, drove from south east London to the Boscombe area, searching for James-Menzies. A couple, one of them Wellington, who lived in the area, sent the trio directions via mobile phone calls and messages to where James-Menzies was staying whilst visiting Bournemouth. Wellington was said to be the 'instigator' of the incident. Wellington, Stephenson, Hutchinson and Parkinson admitted shooting James-Menzies, stating that James-Menzies had died as a result of a 'burglary gone wrong', with an expectation that James-Menzies and another male wouldn't be there. Encountering them, a struggle ensued (heard by neighbours), whereby during this, the gun was discharged 'by some means'. At the time the gun was discharged, Stephenson was holding it, before removing it from the flat and discarding of it.
17 July 2012	Sergio Retamar Marquez, 23	Karl Addo, 30	Lansdowne Road, Bournemouth	Detained indefinitely under the Mental Health Act, including a minimum term of minimum tariff of six-and-a-half years	Flatmates	On 17 July, the body of Marquez was found at his flat. Neighbours had heard Marquez say 'please Karl' before hearing furniture being dragged, laughter and then silence. He had been stabbed and hit with a meat cleaver by his flatmate Addo, who decapitated Marquez to prevent him recovering from his injuries. Addo and two other flatmates shared the flat with Marquez. Addo had suffered with mental illness for a number of years. In October 2011, a tribunal decided that Addo should be sectioned under the Mental Health Act, however, it was unknown where he was. After this, in May 2012, Addo had moved to Bournemouth. Addo believed that he'd been injected with drugs and that gangs were assaulting him with special powers. He feared for his life, falsely believing that Marquez was part of the gang and that Marquez wanted to torture and kill Addo. A number of doctors found Addo to be 'profoundly mentally ill'. Addo pleaded guilty to manslaughter by diminished responsibility. As well as being sentenced to be detained indefinitely at Broodmoor, Addo was sentenced to a minimum tariff of six-and-a-half years, with the judge remarking that the public were protected by both the 'Mental Health Act and the involvement of the parole board'.
15 April 2011	Winton Cooper, 64	Joseph Cooper, 24	Marnhull, near Sturminster Newton	Detained indefinitely under the Mental Health Act	Family (father and son)	On 15 April, Winton was beaten to death by his son, Joseph, in their shared flat. Whilst carrying out the attack, Joseph used a hammer to cause a fatal head wound. After he had killed his father, Joseph used 'three knives and a pair of pruning shears' to inflict further injuries. During the attack, he 'broke a hammer handle in half' and all three handles of the knives were bent. Prior to the attack, Winton had told his neighbours that his son 'was acting strangely'. After killing his father, Joseph called his mother and brothers to tell them what he'd done. After initially being skeptical about what Joseph has said he had done, his mother called police, who discovered Winton's body. Joseph was located nearby and arrested. Joseph stated that he acted in 'self-defence' when Winton had 'attacked him with knives'. However, forensic examination of the scene revealed this wasn't the case. Psychiatric reports revealed that Joseph suffered from 'an abnormality of mind'. Joseph had previously assaulted his father in 2009, attacking him with a metal bar before Winton barricaded himself in his bedroom. Winton was a former BBC Radio Sheffield presenter who had reported at the scene from the Hillsborough disaster and was killed on the 22nd anniversary of the disaster.

A neighbour heard the pair arguing, hearing someone shout ‘give me my money’, hearing ‘£20’ being mentioned. The argument was over £20 that Yousef owed Grigorjevs in wages. After killing Yousef, Grigorjevs fled in Yousef’s Toyota Yaris. Ten hours later, at 6:15am, Grigorjevs died after ploughing into an oncoming lorry on the A350 near Trowbridge in Wiltshire. Having pulled into oncoming traffic, he made not attempt to change his course or brake. Wiltshire Police traced the vehicle involved in the crash as belonging to Yousef and officer’s in Dorset attended his address, finding his body. Sheriff Payne, Bournemouth coroner, recorded that Yousef had been unlawfully killed.
18 August 2010*	Chris 'Little Chris' Hall, 6	Chris Hall, 53	Queen's Road, Parkstone	Suspect killed himself after killing his son	Family (father and son)	At approximately 5pm on 18 August, the bodies of Chris Hall Jr (also known as 'Little Chris') and his father, Hall were found at Hall's address. Little Chris had been given a painkiller overdose by his father before he took an overdose himself. Days before he killed his son and himself, Hall had discovered that his estranged girlfriend was in a relationship with another man. The police and courts were involved with child custody matters after the couple split four months before. After dropping Little Chris at Hall's address, he started shouting abuse at his ex-partner, saying 'you will never see Little Chris again. I will make sure of it'. Two days later, Hall's estranged girlfriend when to pick her son up, but discovered the door had been left open. She left the address before going in as it felt 'eerie', before the police were called when she went to her brother's. Police attended and located Little Chris and Hall. At inquest, it was ruled that Hall 'had taken his own life and unlawfully killed his son'.

He armed himself with two kitchen knives before attending Ryba's address. Zasada denied killing Ryba on the grounds of diminished responsibility, before then pleading guilty. PC Richard Allen, who Ryba had been having a relationship with, was dismissed from Dorset Police for 'forming an inappropriate relationship with a vulnerable victim of domestic abuse'. On discovering that Ryba had been murdered, he deleted text messages between him and Ryba. The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) found that PC Allen's failings 'had not impacted directly' on Ryba's death.

Police discovered the bodies of Arthur and Joan. They located Susan, who had inflicted injuries to her neck and wrists. Susan had drugged her parents, crushing up tablets and placing them in a sandwich for her father and a coffee for her mother, before stabbing her mother with a knife and hitting them both with an iron. Arthur and Joan both died from 'multiple blunt force injuries' caused by an ornamental iron. Arthur had his skull fractured, which Joan also had '28 separate knife wounds'. She told police she wanted to put them 'out of their misery'. However, the court were told that Arthur and Joan 'had a good quality of life'. She pleaded guilty to manslaughter on grounds of diminished responsibility, but was convicted of her parent's murders. Whilst experts agreed that Susan suffered from some mental health issues, the judge found her 'abnormality of mind' did not 'substantially reduce' her accountability for killing her parents. Prior to being found guilty of murder, Susan had been held in a secure facility, however, was transferred to prison after her conviction.

7 November 2008	Luke Campbell, 20	Larbi Mohamed, 21 Saeed Alkadir, 22 Delaine Brown, 22	Garden at the junction of St Clement's Road and Cleveland Road, Boscombe	Life imprisonment with a minimum term of 17 years (Mohamed and Alkadir) and 18 years (Brown)	Rivals (revenge attack)	On the night of 7 November, Campbell, a Bournemouth University student from Belpar, Derbyshire, was stabbed in a 'revenge attack', having been chased through Boscombe by Mohamed, Alkadir and Brown, a trio of drug dealers. They had brought 'at least one kitchen knife' with them to stab Campbell (the group borrowed several kitchen knives from a friend). The day previously, Mohamed had received a small stab wound, where Campbell and his friends were present. CCTV showed the trio driving around the Walpole Road area, where they knew Campbell's friends lived. They found Campbell on his bike and began chasing him. Campbell left his bike, fleeing into a garden on St Clement's road. Finding this garden backed onto a railway line, he had no way out and was stabbed by Brown, after he tried to grapple with him. It was reported that it may have been Campbell was mistaken by one of his friends. After stabbing Campbell, they returned the knives to their friends address, who noticed blood on one of them, before washing them. Campbell died from a single stab wound to his chest. A member of the public discovered his body after 10am of 8 November.
28 April 2008	Irene Hawkes, 82	David Towers, 49	Wakely Road, Bournemouth	Life imprisonment with a minimum term of 18 years	Domestic (mother-in-law)	On 28 April, Towers joined his mother-in-law, Hawkes, on errands in Winton. They also attended various pubs, celebrating a betting win Towers had won. Towers drank between 9-10 pints of alcohol. They were heard to argue in a taxi home by the driver. In the evening, Hawkes was attacked by Towers. He had previously assaulted her in December 2007. On 6 May, Hawkes' body was found at her home by police after concerns were raised by a relative. She had died several days after being attacked and left on her kitchen floor from head and chest injuries. After attacking Hawkes, Towers fled, not calling the emergency services, and instead went into hiding in his ex-partners house, and the Manchester hotel, before being arrested after hiding in a friend's shed. He claimed that his ex-wife (Hawkes' daughter) and her new partner, had killed Hakes, along with a gang.
12 April 2008*	Danielle Powell, 29	Kevin Powell, 38	Goathorn Close, Hamworthy	Life imprisonment with a minimum term of 15 years	Domestic (current partners)	During the early hours of 12 April, police found the body of Danielle Powell at her flat. She had been stabbed multiple times. Her husband, Kevin, attacked Danielle as she was asleep, after she started seeing another man, causing him to fear his relationship was over. He claimed he heard two voices on the night of the murder, one telling him to be nice, the other telling him to kill his wife.
10 April 2008	Richard Emery	Richard Ormond, 35 Samantha Faulder, 46	Throop Road, Townsend	Life imprisonment with a minimum term of 24 years	Unknown	On 10 April, Emery was tied to a chair, attacked and killed by Ormond and Faulder, who were motivated on getting Emery's Post Office card to access his account. Emery was 'tortured', having his ribs broken, socks forced down his throat and having his lung punctured, being beaten across the face and head. After killing Emery, Ormond and Faulder buried his body in woodland, stuffed into a suitcase. Emery was reported missing from his sheltered housing on 29 April, having not been seen since 10 March. Initially, police treated him as a vulnerable missing person, until they received a tip-off that Ormond and Faulder were responsible for killing him and had buried him 'yards from his home'. A search was conducted and Emery's body was located on 30 May.
9 September 2007	Tracey Buckland, 42	Darrell Bacon, 40	Cromwell Road, Poole	Life imprisonment with a minimum term of 13 years	Domestic (ex-partners)	On 9 September, Buckland was stabbed multiple times with several knives by her ex-partner, Bacon. After picking up her children from Bacon's address, Buckland was about to leave the address, when Bacon asked her back into his address where he attacked her. Buckland's children and grandchildren heard her crying for help as they were sat in a car outside the address. Hearing her screams, neighbours called police, who after forcing their way into the address, discovered Bacon drinking beer whilst Buckland was injured and bleeding.
11 July 2007	Steven Galsworthy, 41	Garry Varley, 39	The Lions Head Pub, Holdenhurst Road, Bournemouth	Life imprisonment with a minimum term of 18 years	Retaliation to previous charge on the same victim	On 11 July, Galsworthy was stabbed five times by Varley at the pub Galsworthy was landlord at. On 28 February, Varley was ejected from the pub and in the process, bit Galsworthy on the arm three times. During his arrest for assaulting him, Varley told Galsworthy that he was going to return, saying ‘I’m going to kill you’. On the day of the murder, police attended Varley’s home to charge him with the assault on Galsworthy in February. Arming himself with a kitchen knife, he attended the pub and stabbed Galsworthy multiple times. Due to prior police involvement before Varley murdered Galsworthy, the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) investigated.
9 March 2006	Terence 'Terry' Read, 59	Daniel Lee Redmond, 22	Berrans Avenue, Kinson	Life imprisonment with a minimum term of 14 years	Family (step-grandfather and step-grandson)	Just before midnight on 9 March, Read’s body was located in a driveway. Redmond, his step-grandson, had stamped on his head, brining his knee 'up to waist height between each of many stamps'. Redmond attacked his step-grandfather after an evening of drinking. Read died from 'head and neck injuries'. After attacking Read, Redmond fled to his brother-in-law's address. His brother-in-law washed Redmond's blood-soaked clothing. Redmond was arrested during the early hours of 10 March.F
4 May 2005	Charlotte Lewis, 24	Paul Coles, 38	Hampden Lane, Southbourne	Life imprisonment with a minimum term of 26 years (murder and sexual assault on Charlotte Lewis and grevious bodily harm on Nicola Lewis) Placed on the sex offender's register for life	Family (step-father and step-daughter)	Between 10pm and midnight on 14 May, having had his sexual advances ‘spurned’, Coles attacked his wife, Nicola, beating her on the head with a piece of wood whilst she was sleeping. Hearing what was happening, Charlotte called 999 to police, providing her address and was heard to say the words ‘he’s hitting’.  Charlotte interrupted Cole’s attack when she screamed and after this, Coles started attacking her, before sexually assaulting her. At 2:30am, Coles called police, telling them what he’d done. At 3am, officers heard Nicola’s voice, discovering her with significant injuries to her face. They located Lewis dead in another room. Within a briefcase belonging to Coles, a list of 40 points regarding ‘violent sexual fantasies leading to death’ was later found. Police originally attended the address seven minutes after Charlotte’s 999 call, however, they decided not to force entry into the address after enquiries with neighbours and at the house.
27 March 2005	Lomoki 'Millie' Mkwananzi, 29	Steven Smith, 24	Gordon Road, Boscombe	Life imprisonment with a minimum of 19 years (murder of Mkwananzi and arson to her flat)	Sex worker and client	On 27 March, the body of Mkwananzi was located on her bed at her bedsit flat, after a fire.Police were called at 6am by the fire service and later discovered she had been stabbed, hit and strangled prior to the fire, with it being likely it was by someone she knew, as there was no sign of a break-in. For unknown reasons, Mkwananzi got into the world of drug addiction between arriving in Dorset, after studying at Middlesex University, where she graduated in 1998, and when she was murdered. Mkwananzi worked as a sex worker to fund her dependency on drugs. She was stabbed and strangled by a client, Smith, whom she had met in the early hours of the day she was killed. Smith had used a hairspray can to hit Mkwananzi over the face and head, stabbed her three times and strangled her. He attempted to cover his tracks by setting fire to her flat. Smith initially claimed he hadn’t been with Mkwananzi, but then stated he had been, picking up Mkwananzi in the ‘red light area’ of Bournemouth on Southcote Road, before going back to her flat to have sex. He stated that when he left her, she had been ‘alive and well’. However, the hairspray can used in the attack had Smith’s fingerprints on, with Smith further linked to the murder from footprints at the scene in Mkwananzi’s blood. During the trial, Smith pleaded guilty, admitting he had killed Mkwananzi, but stated that ‘something happened to him in his mind’, where he stated he ‘lost it completely’ and started hitting Mkwananzi in a ‘complete blind rage’. Smith had a prior conviction for assaulting a sex worker in 2000 in the Boscombe area of Bourneouth, whereby the victim stated Smith had tried to kill her.
2 February 2005	Sandra Wiles, 19	George Tayali, 28	Poole Quay, Poole	Life imprisonment with a minimum of 14 years	Domestic (current partners)	On 2 February, Wiles was strangled by her partner, Tayali, at her flat, after becoming 'very angry' when discovering she was working as a sex worker due to having a lack of money to pay rent. Her naked body was found by her flatmate in their flat's lounge. She also located a note that Tayali had written that said 'Police, in my defence, I found out my girlfriend is a prostitute so I killed both of us. PS, I loved this girl'. On killing Wiles, Tayali fled to Heathrow airport and was arrested on 3 February after boarding a plane to Zimbabwe. Tayali suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) from serving as a soldier in Iraq in 2004. However, it was found that he was 'not suffering from mental illness ' when he murdered Wiles.
13 February 2004	Irena Pearson, 50	Maurice Pearson, 56	Merriefield Avenue, Broadstone	Life imprisonment with a minimum of 14 years and five months	Domestic (current partners)	On 13 February, Irena Pearson was beaten by her husband, Maurice, who used a 'blunt object' to kill her at their home. The attack was believed to have happened after an argument about money. After killing his wife, he dumped his clothing at a council tip and attempted to give himself an albi by going shopping in stores with CCTV cameras. Returning home, he called police to report she'd been killed by an intruder, claiming to be 'traumatised' on discovering his wife's body. However, forensic officers didn't discover any signs of a break-in.
19 January 2004	Keith Ridout, 87	Michael Hill, 22 Hannah Wilton, 21 (manslaughter charge dropped when Hill admitted stabbing Ridout)	Victoria Street, Shaftesbury*	Life imprisonment with a minimum term of 15 years (for murder) and 3-and-a-half years (for attempted robbery)	Strangers	On 19 January, Ridout, aged 83-years-old, was stabbed by Hill after he and his partner Hannah Wilton attempted to rob him of £40 in cash. After leaving a pub, Hill attatcked Ridout, who was described as putting 'up a fight'. His body was discovered by two probation officers.

Milnes, a heroin addict, stole £80 order to pay off a debt for his drug habit.After stealing items, Milnes attacked Riggs with his fists, a metal statue and coffee table leg, beating him to death. After Riggs had died, Milnes met Jamie Kelly through a friend, offering to set Riggs’ house on fire. Kelly burned to death when he attempted to destroy the evidence in setting Riggs’ property on fire.
3 August 2003	William Ross, 33	Michael Croker, 29	Stanley Street, Weymouth	Life imprisonment, with a minimum of 12 years	Strangers	During the early hours of 3 August, Croker, armed with a seven-inch-long kitchen knife, stabbed Ross four times in fight outside his home. Having been drinking at home with his wife and her friend, Croker went into a nearby garage near to Weymouth railway station to get cigarettes when he came across Ross. The pair, both drunk, were heard to make comments towards one another about being drug dealers. At approximately 1am, Ross assaulted Croker after Croker made the insensitive comments. After the comments were made, Ross punched Croker’s nose, kicking him in the backside. Croker’s wife and her friend broke up the fight, however, having lost his temper and to avenge the assault, Croker took two kitchen knives from his address. Leaving one in the address after his wife confronted him, having threatened to call the police, he returned to Ross, stabbing him in the chest with what was described as an ‘overarm cricket-style bowling action’. After striking more blows, Coker told Ross he would stab ‘his fucking eyes out’, before shouting about being from Manchester. Ross died from multiple stab wounds, ranging from depths of 11cm, 13cm and 17cm. Ross’ injuries included his breast bone being cut, his lungs being punctured, the main vein in his left arm being punctured as well as his aorta in his heart being cut. Croker claimed that it was self-defence, however, this was rejected by a jury.
30 July 2003	Angela Chiu, 48	David Stevenson, 39	Haven Road, Poole	Life imprisonment with a minimum term of 19 years (other offences of robbery against Chiu and a knife attack on an unrelated woman were ordered to remain on file)	Domestic (affair)	On 30 July, Chiu was stabbed six times by Stevenson at her address, where he had been having an affair with her. He then emptied her safe where she kept money. After the attack, Stevenson fled, arrested near Colchester, Essex at his grandmother’s address. His DNA matched samples that were taken at the scene, including him having trainers at his home that matched a footprint in blood at the scene. On 1 August, Chiu’s daughter asked a builder to gain entry to the house as she hadn’t heard from her mother for ‘some time’. On entering, the builder smelt a bad smell, with police arriving to break down the bathroom door, whereby they located Chiu’s body.
12 November 2002	Heather Barnett, 48	Danilo Restivo, 30	Capstone Road, Richmond Park	Whole life order, reduced on appeal to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 40 years	Neighbours	On 12 November, Barnett was murdered by Restivo in her flat. Restivo bludgeoned Barnett to death, cutting her breasts off, lying them beside her head and placing someone else's hair in her hand. Barnett was found by her children, aged 11 and 14-years-old, who Restivo and his partner comforted and helped them call the police. Restivo and Barnett lived across the street from one another. He visited Barnett, a seamstress on 6 November, on the pretence he needed some work done. In the process, he stole her spare key. It wasn't until 2008 when new DNA techniques matched Restivo's DNA to a bloodstain located on a towel left at the scene.
12 July 2002	Jong-Ok Shin, 26	Omar Benguit, 27/28	Malmesbury Park Road, Richmond Park	Life imprisonment with a minimum term of 20 years	Strangers	During the early hors of 12 July, Shin was murdered whilst she walked home from a night out. Benguit was convicted with her murder after a second re-trial in 2005. Evidence that Danilo Restivo, a convicted murderer who committed a murder a few roads away in November 2002, was thought to be the suspect due to similarities from other murders was used by Benguit's defence team.
27 May 2002	Jean Rhoda Kenaghan, 56	51-year-old man	Charminster Road, Charminster			TRADERS and residents have spoken of their shock after waking to discover that a woman had been killed within yards of their shops and homes. The victim has been named as 56-year-old Jean Rhoda Kenaghan, a former hotel manager, of Charmister Road. Police were called to Charminster on Sunday night after receiving phone calls from members of the public claiming that a woman had been stabbed. They found the victim slumped on the pavement near a takeaway. A man was found sitting nearby. The incident happened in Charminster Road at around 11.30pm. A man who works in a local restaurant said: "I called the police and left immediately after. "I was shocked, I still am. I have never seen anything like that in my life. This is a nightmare, that poor girl." He added: "I knew the woman, I recognised her immediately. She was petite and very pretty. I know everyone here - we are a community. "It will be a shock to the people here. We don't see that happening in Charminster. It is horrendous." A resident described the incident as "very disturbing". Another man said: "I have lived for 20 years in Charminster and there has never been anything, I have never even seen a fight." The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Detective Supt Phil James has appealed to any witnesses to contact the incident room on 01202 222114 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111. A 51-year-old local man has been charged with murder and will appear at Bournemouth magistrates court this morning.

Her former boyfriend, Keehan, had sexually assaulted Benson before killing her. Keehan stated he had 'no real recollection of what happened' on the day he murdered Benson, but 'accepted the evidence'.

A boy who was 15 at the time of the killing was charged with her murder. The prosecution claimed at the subsequent trial that he killed Wilson while burgling her flat and had confessed to a friend. The jury acquitted him.

25 August 2010	Rosemary Armstrong, 69	Eclia Henderson, 39	Queensland Road, Pokesdown, Bournemouth	Detained indefinitely under the Mental Health Act	Family (mother and daughter)	Just after 1pm on 25 August, Armstrong was found outside the block of flats of her daughter, Henderson. She had been stabbed to death by Henderson. Before the killing, Henderson had been suffering from paranoid schizophrenia. She was found guilty of manslaughter by reason of diminished responsibility. At the time Armstrong was killed, Henderson had been living in the community in a block of flats with other vulnerable people, under a 's17 Community Treatment Order' under the Mental Health Act. In 2014, Dorset Healthcare University Foundation NHS Trust admitted negligence in Henderson's treatment. Henderson attempted to sue the NHS for damages, with the issue being that she would have not committed the killing if the NHS hadn't been negligent. However, on 30 October 2020, the Supreme Court dismissed her claim 'unanimously', whereby her claim was 'barred by the illegality defence'.
8 May 2009	Ralph Millward, 41	Jimmy Ayres, 14 Craig Real, 16 Warren Crago, 16	Outside Marks and Spencer, Westbourne	90 weeks imprisonment (Ayres) 4 years and 9 months imprisonment (Real) 4 years imprisonment (Crago)	Strangers	At approximately 1:30am on 8 May, Ayres, aged 14-years-old, Real and Crago, both aged 15-years-old attacked Millward, a Big Issue seller who was sleeping rough outside a Marks and Spencer store, after he refused to give them a cigarette. They all kicked Millward in his head, shoulder and chest. After Millward was beaten unconscious, the trio stole a small pouch of cigarette tobacco and a transistor radio from him. Real and Crago then returned to Millward later in the early hours, ramming a supermarket trolley into his body. Two outreach workers discovered Millward's body, face down in bushes, during the morning. He had died from multiple blunt force injuries and the shopping trolley was found on top of him. Blood was found on his hands, face and in his hair, as well as being splattered on a nearby wall. The trio were cleared of murder, being found guilty of murder.
4 April 2009	Michael Wooldridge, 34	Robin Randall, 31	Outside the Lugger Inn, Chickerell	18 months imprisonment	Acquaintances	On 4 April, Wooldridge was hit by his friend, Randall, outside a pub. They had previously had an altercation inside the pub after 'horseplay' escalated. Outside the pub, Wooldridge, attempting to steady himself after drinking for a number of hours, raised his arm near Randall. Randall responded by raising his arm, making contact with Wooldrige who then fell, hitting his head on the ground. He died the next day at Dorset County Hospital.
8 March 2007	Trent Wilson, 3-weeks-old	Kitt Wilson, 25	Bournemouth	5 years imprisonment and disqualified from working with children	Family (father and son)	On 8 March, Trent was shaken and had his head banged on a hard surface by his father, Kitt, when he 'refused to take his bottle' as he was trying to feed him. Trent received rib fractures and a fracture to his skull, as well as bruising to his mouth, described as 'consistent with a bottle being forced into it'. After attacking Trent, Kitt had a cigarette and it was only when Trent's mother returned home from shopping, that she discovered her son and called 999. Trent was taken to Poole Hospital, before being transferred to Southampton Hospital, where he died on 9 March. Before admitted causing Trent's death, Kitt stated that he'd dropped Trent when changing his nappy.

5 July 2003	William Avey, 33	Anthony Wallis, 28	Trinidad Crescent, Rossmore, Poole	6 years imprisonment (later handed a life sentence for an attack on a fellow inmate whilst in prison for manslaughter)	Unknown (Avey knew Wallis' girlfriend but unknown what connection he and Wallis had)	At 10:25pm, Avey was stabbed during a dispute in the street with Wallis. Wallis had become angry when he saw Avey sitting ‘too close for comfort’ next to his girlfriend when he arrived o pick her up from a party. Shouting abuse at Avey and his friend, one of the men hit Wallis with a baseball bat. Wallis then retuned with a knife from the kitchen of Avey’s flat, stabbing him in the chest. Wallis pleaded guilty to manslaughter and was sentenced to six years. Whilst awaiting sentence, Wallis slashed another prisoner at Winchester Prison. As a result, he was issued with a life sentence, due to it being his second serious assault.

Family (step-son and step-father)	During the early hours of 23 May, Peter Mabey was 'stabbed and slashed' with a knife at his flat by his step-son, Daryl, with his son Scott also being present. The door to his flat had been kicked down before the attack, resulting in Peter dying at the scene. Previously, Darryl confided in his step-brother Scott Mabey (whose father was Peter) about how Peter had seriously sexually abused him as a child. Another member of the family stated that she was abused and it was decided to report this to police. On 21 May 2002, Daryl reported to police Scott beat his father up, who was then taken to hospital.
4 May 2001	Clive Fox, 42	Daniel Scott, 21	One Stop shop in Winton, Wimborne Road	2 years and nine months imprisonment (manslaughter) and 2 years and 4 months imprisonment (possessing and using a false passport)	Strangers	On 4 May, Wilcox was struck with a ‘haymaker punch’ by Scott. Having spent an evening with friends, Wilcox and his wife went into a shop to buy cigarettes on their way home. As they exited the shop, youths from the so-called ‘BH9 Gang’ confronted the couple. Wilcox was punched by Scott, before he fell to the ground and suffered a serious head injury, dying the next day at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital. Initially, the youths suspected to have been at the scene during the incident didn’t provide police information, attempting to protect Scott and themselves. There were various versions of events given, including Wilcox being heard to say ‘do you want a fight’, that Scott had punched Wilcox as he walked away, with Scott saying that he was acting as a ‘peacemaker’, acting in ‘self defence’ because of how Wilcox was ‘acting aggressively’ and feared being assaulted. After attacking Wilcox, Scott went on the run across Europe for more than a decade. He was arrested on 13 June 2012 at St Pancras International Station, when caught trying to get back into the UK using a fake passport. The Police National Computer (PNC) revealed he was wanted in connection with Wilcox’s death in 2001. Scott had formerly been jailed for three years for grievous bodily harm with intent in December 1999.

The company Clegg worked for, Sunlight Services Group Limited, were fined after investigations showed the company didn’t provide a safe system of work for Clegg.
14 December 2001	Glen Hudson, 35	Unnamed, known identified only as 'CD'	Elements Nightclub, Fir Vale Road, Bournemouth	Not charged or sentenced as he died in a crash on 29 August 2002	Unknown	At 02:30am on 14 December, Hudson was on a night out with a friend, in the VIP area of a nightclub, when he was shot at point-blank range at the MTV Lick party, hosted by then Radio One DJ Trevor Nelson, with up to 3,000 people in attendance. When a man asked another for a cigarette, a row started behind Hudson, resulting in the suspect, only known as 'CD', to pull out a gun, firing a shot from 20 feet away from Hudson. The bullet passed through the nose of one man before impacting Hudson's head. After the shot was fired, club staff rushed to Hudson, whilst the doors were sealed by security guards, however, it was believed that the suspect had already escaped the club. Hudson was taken to hospital but died from his injuries. He served as a Bombardier with the 1st Royal Horse Artillery at Tidworth, Wiltshire, working as a physical training instructor. 'CD', died in a crash on 29 August, when the police were on the verge of arresting him for killing Hudson. Police stated that Hudson was hit by 'a bullet intended for someone else'. Whilst police stated that CD's identity had been discussed with Hudson's family, they stated his details wouldn't be released, as he died before his 'guilt or innocence could be determined by a court of law', Hudson's death was recorded as an 'unlawful killing'.
