editScreenshot of Typical Gameplay|left|thumb|150 pxIn cosmic nitro player have to defend their city from 5 different types of falling enemies in 9 levels, a secret level and a non-stop mode (apocalypse). Players defeat these enemies by tapping on them although some enemies require more than one tap to defeat. Players can also use a sheild by swiping their finger along thew screen killing all on-screen enemies however this does not count towards the high score and the is only a limit of sheilds. The city has a health bar and once it is empty the game is over. Each mission increases in difficulty and there is a high score for each one. The acopalypse mode can not be completed and features a high score.

[1] Finger Gaming gave the game 4 and a half stars praising the game that it was 'nicely suited for bursts of game-play and is satisfying throughout.'[2]
