During Life
editCaleb was born in Georgia, USA[1] and began his YouTube career on September 17, 2010, when he launched his gaming channel under the name blazenoutlaws. He uploaded videos on a variety of different games, one of which was Minecraft.[1] His true career, however, began on December 30, 2010, when his parents launched the Bratayley channel for his youngest sister, Hayley.[1] He began appearing in videos with his two younger siblings and his parents where they would vlog their everyday life in Maryland, USA. Caleb was only 8 years old when he first appeared on the Bratayley channel.[1] In 2012, Caleb was given the nickname "Baked Potato" by his family and viewers due to a song he created where he sang about being a baked potato. In the video titled "I Am a Baked Potato! (WK 83.5)", Caleb is seen singing "I Am a Baked Potato" with his sisters, earning him the forever nickname "Baked Potato". He owned a variety of different pets throughout his life, two of which were Guinea Pigs.[1] When he was just 11 years old, Caleb received braces.[1] He kept them for a straight 2 years until he finally got them off on April 9, 2015, just six-months before his tragic, unfortunate, sad, and untimely passing. He was a passionate baseball player, but an even more passionate YouTuber. In a Bratayley video titled "Have You Ever? (WK 233.4)", Caleb says he has thought about quitting baseball but never dreamed of quitting YouTube. He played in multiple baseball leagues[1] and wore the number seven proudly on the back of his jersey.[2]
After Death
editSoon after his death, Caleb's parents confirmed that he had died due to natural causes. It was later revealed by a Medical Examiner, that he had died due to an undetectable heart condition known as Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy which is a condition that is hereditary.[3] Soon after his death, his parents announced that they would be live streaming his memorial service on Periscope (app) for all his fans to pay their respects.[4] His time of death was recorded at 7:08PM EST on October 1, 2015.[5]
