Abednego Lufile

Abednego Lufile (born June 8th, 1994) is a Canadian Professional basketball player for London Lightning of the National Basketball League of Canada. Lufile has also played for the Guelph Nighthawks of the Canadian Elite Basketball League in it's inaugural season. Abednego Lufile is also an author of The Blind Walk where he shares his faith story from soaring from failure into success by trusting in God.

COLLEGIATE CAREER

Lufile attended three different educational institutions such as Sheridan College (in Wyoming), East Tennessee State University and Arkansas Tech University. Lufile attended Sheridan College for two years before receiving a full scholarship to play at a NCAA D1 school at ETSU under head coach Steve Forbes (previous assistant coach for Chadrack Lufile). On June 25th 2015 Lufile transferred from ETSU to Arkansas Tech University (NCAA DII) where he led Arkansas Tech to the NCAA Division II national tournament while averaging 11.7 points and 8.6 rebounds. Lufile also broke the GAC (Great American Conference) and school record in rebounding (22) in 2016.

PROFESSIONAL CAREER

On March 25th, 2019, Abednego Lufile was drafted by the Guelph Nighthawks in the CEBL (Canadian Elite Basketball League) alongside his two brothers Chadrack Lufile and Meshack Lufile. Lufile appeared in 7 of 20 games in the inaugural season for the Nighthawks in his rookie year. On December 23rd, 2019 Lufile signed with the London Lightning of the National Basketball League of Canada (NBL Canada). In the 2018-2019 NBL Canada season, Chadrack and Meshack Lufile played in the same league on the Halifax Hurricanes. On June 8th, 2020 Lufile signed with the Niagara River Lions of the CEBL.

PERSONAL LIFE

Abednego Lufile was born on June 8th, 1994 in the Democratic Republic of Congo, to Benjamin and Miriam Lufile. His father, Benjamin Lufile is a ordained minister in the Christian faith. Lufile has three brothers by the names of Chadrack, Meshack and Elijah Lufile. Lufile also has one sister, Nathalie Lufile. Chadrack Lufile and Meshack Lufile are both professional basketball players with multiple years of experience. Elijah Lufile is currently playing NCAA basketball in Oklahoma for Oral Roberts University on a full scholarship. On August 25th, 2020 Abednego Lufile published his first book The Blind Walk on Amazon.
