The Extraordinary Rendition Band (ERB) is an American marching band from Providence, Rhode Island with approximately 20 active members. The instrumentation of the band varies, but includes percussion, brass, and woodwinds and non-traditional instruments such as accordions and washboards[1]. ERB describes itself as a "street band" and is known for its activism and appearances at protests. [2] The band's name references both the government-sanctioned practice of abduction, extraordinary rendition and the versions of songs the band plays. [3]Local events the Extraordinary Rendition Band plays at include PVDFest and PRONK [4]; the band has also participated in HONK! in Somerville, Massachusetts.
The band's uniform is "red, white and shiny." [2]
