Lund's Student Theater (LUST) (up to the summer of 2007 Lund's New Student Theater (LnS)) is an amateur theater ensemble that operates as a committee within Akademiska Föreningen in Lund. From 2015, LUST began transitioning to operating in English rather than Swedish. Today, the organization is entirely English-speaking.
LUST originally formed in 1933 as a theater organization tied to Lund University, functioned during the 1950s under the name Lilla Teatern (The Small Theater), but returned to the student-theater name in the 1960s. Through the years, LUST has yielded several offshoots in other seperate fringe theater groups such as Ulf Grans Teater Proteus, Teater 23 in Malmö, and Nationalteatern in Gothenburg.
LUST was reformed in 1981 after a hiatus, and this organization has been an active voice within the culture of Lund and Scania ever since. Since 1983, it has even served as a committee within Akademiska Föreningen and is, as of 2024, based in AF-Borgen.
LUST arrange two productions per year, one in the fall and one in the spring. Beyond this, they also offer various other activities, including script analysis, writing, acting, and improvisation workshops. Since 2022, LUST has been writing and performing Pub Theater productions, which are interactive performances created by LUST members.
