Aaron Jakubenko is an Australian actor. He is known for his roles in historical drama series Spartacus: Blood and Sand (2013) and his starring role in the biographical film Spirit of the Game (2016). Jakubenko has also appeared in the soap opera Neighbours (2013–2014), documentary drama television series Roman Empire: Reign of Blood (2016), fantasy drama series The Shannara Chronicles (2016–2017) and starred in the crime thriller drama series Tidelands (2018).
Early life
editJakubenko was born in Melbourne on 8 December 1988. He has a sister Clare and a brother John, who performs in the band Red Ink.
Jakubenko collaborated with Swiss-born, Australian-based composer Ronnie Minder with his vocals featured on Tomorrow's Another Day.[1] Jakubenko has also appeared in a number of Ronnie Minder music videos.
Career
editJakubenko had a supporting role in the television series Conspiracy 365 in 2012, as Yuri. In 2013, Jakubenko played the role of Sabinus in the Starz original series Spartacus: Blood and Sand. This was followed by a starring role in the movie Blinder as Ricky Dawson.[2]
In 2013 he was cast as Robbo Slade in the soap opera Neighbours.[3] In 2014, he returned to that role in the Neighbours spin-off webseries Neighbours vs Zombies.[4] In the same year, he a guest role in the drama series The Doctor Blake Mysteries.
In 2016, Jakubenko had the starring role in the biographical film Spirit of the Game as DeLyle Condie from the Mormon Yankees.[5] He was also seen in the role of Commodus, a future Roman Emperor in the documentary drama television series Roman Empire: Reign of Blood[6]. This was followed by the MTV fantasy drama series The Shannara Chronicles in the a role of Ander Elessedil.[7] [8]
In 2018, Jakubenko had a starring role in the Netflix original series Tidelands as Augie McTeer.[9] [10]
