Donaven Mancini
Donaven Mancini is a Canadian professional Ice Hockey Player for Team Italy in the International Ice Hockey Federation.
Donaven was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on February 27th, 2003. He later moved to Virginia Beach, Virginia.
He began playing Ice Hockey at around age 5, he was top of his class even at such a young age. He would later play for semi-pro leagues throughout Canada until his migration to the US.
With his migration, his hockey career came to a hiatus around age 13. Eventually, after declining in school, he focused harder and rebooted his career. He would end up getting signed with the Flint Firebirds in the OHL at the age of 16, less than a year later, he would get a multi-hundred thousand dollar contract with Team Canada.
February 2nd was the day that Donaven had officially signed with Team Canada. However, his time with them would be short lived. The Coronavirus outbreak ended the IIHF season only after two games. Donaven first played against arena Russia in the season opener in Toronto and would ultimately win 4-3. He would then go on to play against Team Estonia in Tallinn, leading to another victory 3-2. The season then came to an abrupt end.
In the summer of 2020, Donaven was released from his contract. Team Italy contacted him around late June about another multi-thousand dollar contract. He officially signed July 5th, 2020.
Donaven now plays for Team Italy and is helping the team get their record positive again. Team Italy has suffered a negative record for the 50 of the 58 years they have been in the International Ice Hockey Federation.
