Ventoura
Ventoura is a social discovery mobile application connecting travellers to travellers and locals. Founded in early 2014 and headquartered in Helsinki, Finland, the company is privately owned and operated by Ventoura Oy[1]. Users of the service must connect using their Facebook account and choose to be either a Traveller, or a Local, although there is the ability to switch between the two account types.
A Ventoura Traveller has the ability to input their own travel plans into the App which allows them to match with other travellers who will be in the same city at the same time. Travellers also have the ability to discover and book unique tours offered by Locals. A private messaging system is used to facilitate communication between travellers and locals.
Ventoura is a free service that runs as a marketplace platform. It operates using a commission-based revenue model.
