My name is Jason Pitzl-Waters. I was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska. This was in the 70s and 80s before cool indie-rock bands started hanging out there.
I currently live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I used to live in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois.
I'm deeply interested in religion, faith, and how they intersect with our culture. I pay special attention to all permutations of modern Paganism, an umbrella faith category that I consider myself a part of. I currently write a daily updated blog of news and opinion relating to the modern Paganism movement. I'm thinking I might eventually write a book spinning off of my experiences as a Pagan blogger (publishers feel free to drop me a line if you think that sounds amazingly great).
In addition to my interest in religion, I am also a passionate fan of music. So much so that several years ago I decided to go "pro" and become a DJ. I hosted a weekly radio show broadcast live on WEFT 90.1fm for six years. Towards the end the show was also sent around the world via podcast. One of my specialties is music by and for modern Pagans.
In the past I have made my living as a web designer, though I have been moving away from that for years now. Until very recently I made my living (such as it is) working for a Unitarian-Universalist campus center and by doing some freelance writing. I'm hoping to return to school on a more full-time basis soon. My ultimate goal is to find a career of service to my faith, and to those in need.
I'm happily married, a pragmatic vegan, a believer in nonviolence, a big fan of Egon Schiele and Gustav Klimt, a step-father, and my Sun is in Cancer.
