Dr. Jayanta Das is an Indian metallurgist. He is a professor of IIT Kharagpur. Dr. Das has made pioneering research contributions and has solved a number of open problems. His work has been incorporated in standard text books. He has published more than 130 papers in international journals and 60 conferences and supervised half dozen PhD students. He is also an awardee of Deutsche Gesellschaft für Materialkunde (DGM) Nachwuchspreis in Germany in 2007.
