The Spotted Pig is a self-described “gastropub” in Greenwich Village in New York City. It specializes in British and Italian seasonal food.[1] One of its signature dishes is Sheep’s Ricotta Gnudi with Brown Butter & Sage.[2] It is a small but very popular restaurant in which finding a table can be a problem. Queues often extend onto the sidewalk. April Bloomfield, who formerly cooked at Chez Panisse in Berkeley, California, is the head chef.[3]
In one episode of the American version of the television series “The Office,” Karen and Jim have dinner at the Spotted Pig while in New York. John Krasinski, an actor in “The Office,” is an occasional guest bartender at the Spotted Pig.[4]
