Mahogany Reynolds

Mahogany Reynolds is an American actress, singer, model, dancer, writer, and producer. Born in Detroit, Michigan, Reynolds began her career in elementary school, performing in school productions and talent shows.

She continued to develop her talents during high school at Stone Mountain High in Stone Mountain, Georgia where she was a soloist in several productions.

As a college student at Ferris State University, located in Big Rapids, Michigan, and Grand Valley State University, located in Allendale, Michigan, Reynolds earned her Bachelor's Degree in Communication with a major in journalism. During college she served as a copy editor for various campus publications, had her own column in the campus newspaper, and self-published a monthly newsletter. While in college, Reynolds built her career as a professional model, in print, runway, commercial, and spokesmodeling.

Upon graduating university, Reynolds worked in the field of journalism and marketing communications for several years in Michigan, before relocating to the New York area to pursue a career as a model and actress.

After arriving to New York, she worked as the marketing coordinator for The Source Hip-Hop Magazine in New York. She also worked as the marketing manager for Flava Unit Records in Jersey City, New Jersey.

Shortly thereafter, Reynolds began landing roles in film and television as an extra, then leading into supporting roles, and eventually landing the lead role in the independent film "The Boy With The Sun In His Eyes" that was filmed across Europe.

Reynolds began landing roles in community theaters in New York and New Jersey. She portrayed Ruth Younger in "A Raisin In The Sun" at the Algonquin Theater in Manasquan, New Jersey.

In 2016 Reynolds receive a proclamation and an award for her accomplishments as an actress from the former mayor of Rahway, New Jersey, Samson Steinman.

Reynolds is the founder and executive director of Just Be You Performing Arts and the Just Be You Performing Arts Youth Film & Theater Festival. Aside from actor, Reynolds is a youth mentor and coach, and provides career management and development for aspiring young performing artist. She is also a playwright and produces stage plays and musicals. Reynolds creates and produces a variety of performing arts productions; such as, fashion shows, comedy shows, and talent shows, with the assistance of her husband, in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
