George Washington Burr, Jr. was an American general in the United States Army who served in WWI.
Early life
editBurr was born on December 3, 1865 in Tolono, Illinois to George Washington Burr and Nancy Scott Burr. He graduated fourth in his class from the United States Military Academy in 1888.
Military career
editAfter graduation, Burr was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the First Artillery Regiment and stationed at the Presidio of San Francisco. In 1890, he was transferred to New York's Fort Hamilton, where he remained until 1893.
