Jeremy Millward
editJeremy Matthew Millward (born December 24, 2004) is a student at Moss Vale High School, in the Southern Highlands who works in his community to advocate and support mental health by implementing effective initiatives.
Jeremy began advocating his passion towards mental health in high school. Jeremy proposed to implement a permanent program in his school that taught students and teachers about mental health and how to help people suffering from mental illnesses.
In September, 2020, Jeremy created a mental health awareness week in his school. Which was extremely successful. The week included, morning activities for students and staff, installation of conversation tables in the main lunch area (which Jeremy devotes his Thursday lunch - talking to people), a conversation hall, wear-it-yellow-day, and many more activities throughout this week.
Jeremy’s initiative created a legacy in the school and a positive impact on all students and staff, as well as the community outside of school.
In April, 2021, Jeremy received a national award for his efforts. Jeremy was the recipient of the Young Conversation Champion Award, which he received virtually at the RUOK, Barbara Hocking Memorial Ceremony.
