Ranchers' Club Philippines
HISTORY
editThe University of the Philippines (UP) Ranchers' Club was founded by Dr. Francisco Fronda, one of the 31 National Scientist of the Philippines and known as the Father of Poultry Science in the Philippines [1] on August 22, 1922 at the then UP College of Agriculture in Los Baños, Laguna. Its first adviser was Dr. Valente Villegas. The club was patterned after the Round Up Club of Cornell University located in Ithaca, New York, U.S. It is known to be the first student organization established in the University of the Philippines, Los Baños. Now known as the Ranchers' Club Philippines, the organization has recognized chapters in various colleges and universities throughout the country.
