We Stood Like Kings are a band from Brussels, Belgium playing live soundtracks to silent movies. They have released two studio albums : BERLIN 1927 and USSR 1926. We Stood Like Kings' music has been described as cinematic, piano-driven post-rock [1][2], relying on piano, guitar, bass, and drums.

We Stood Like Kings was formed in 2011 in Brussels, Belgium. We Stood Like Kings has toured extensively across European cinemas and concert halls, and played already more than 100 shows in 10 different countries[3].


Releases

They are currently signed to the German label Kapitän Platte based in Bielefeld, Germany, along with bands like Ef, Immanu El or The Hirsch Effekt. On that label, they released the album "Berlin 1927", a live soundtrack to Walther Ruttmann's 1927 silent movie : Berlin, Die Sinfonie der Großstadt. The album was co-released by Dunk!records.

In 2015, We Stood Like Kings have announced the release of a second album titled "USSR 1926". The exact release date, October 30th, 2015, has been officially communicated on the label's website [4].

"USSR 1926" is a new soundtrack for Dziga Vertov's 1926 silent movie "A Sixth Part of the World". The music was compared by Echoes and Dust[5] to acts like Pink Floyd, Glories, Athletics and pg.lost.
