Jim Meehan was Born in Small Heath, Birmingham to Elizabeth and Patrick Meehan
He became an RE teacher in his early twenties and has taught at St Phillips Secondary School, Bishop Walsh RC Secondary School and St Edmund Campion Catholic School. He retired from St Edmund Campion n Thursday 27th July 2006, leaving teaching after 30 years.
In 2004, Jim set up a small group named Christ the Healer Project along with a South African Priest, Fr. Matthias Nsamba, who was visiting the parish of St Josephs, Nechells. This has since become a very helpful charity in the Transkei, raising awareness of AIDS and setting up AIDS prevention workshops. According to The Website, Christ The Healer has raised over £6,000.
