Conversion of math from Latex to HTML

Please stop blanket converting math from Latex to HTML. This is not an improvement. If you don't like the default appearance of Latex formulas, go into your Preferences and set the appearance for Math to "MathML". It's on the Appearance tab. Once you change that setting, Latex formulas render more like HTML ones, except with better spacing and intelligent control of typography.

I reverted most, but not all, of your math conversions. Generally more complex formulas are best represented in Latex. Anything complex enough to be put on its own line is usually best done in Latex. Certainly if the equation is already in Latex replacing it with HTML is actively harmful. I left your conversions of chemical and nuclear reactions; the HTML format with templates seems better suited to those. I left conversions of simple formulas and numbers, for which HTML is more appropriate.

Be careful about italics in equations. In proper math typography, only variables appear in italics, not symbols (like "=") or subscripts that are not themselves variables (like "eff" in T_eff). One of the advantages of Latex is that it handles many of the subtle typographical details for you, so you can focus on the math. Latex markup is also often more easily readable in the edit window than HTML.--Srleffler (talk) 02:03, 30 March 2016 (UTC)
