S.J. Pettersson S.J. (Stig Jonas) Pettersson is a Swedish composer currently active in the vibrant Los Angeles classical scene. Notable works include the 2007 orchestral ballet “Gaudi – Dancing About Architecture” based on the unique and highly individualistic buildings of the Spanish Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí i Cornet (1852 – 1926), and the 2010 chamber opera “A Dream Play” based on the the 1902 play of the same name by Swedish author August Strindberg (1849 – 1912). “A Dream Play” was released to favorable reviews (1)(2) and have had partial recital performances in 2009 and 2010 in New York as part of Vox Novus Composer's Voice concert series and Metropolis Opera Project's MOP Bucket. Los Angeles performances include a larger performance at Classical Music Los Angeles concert series, as well as at the Classical Underground concerts produced by notable artist Alexey Steele.
