editOriginally from the Cheshire village of Lymm, Pete Buckley is the author of 3 books to date in the genre of travel. He has published a string of articles on the subject of the outdoors, chiefly on walking and hiking in the mountain areas of Europe and is a regular contributor to several leading websites on the subject.
His first book 31 Days in a Campervan was inspired by a tour around New Zealand he made in the summer of 2005 while A Long Walk in the Alps follows a journey from the Eiger to the Matterhorn in Switzerland. He has since written about his experiences travelling in several European countries and in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado as well as regular internet contributions on walking in the UK, chiefly in the Lake District and North Wales.
Other activities include outdoor photography as well as off road cycling on which subject he has published a number of route guides on the internet though no books to date. He currently lives near to Blackburn in Lancashire.
