Following on discussions of how tables of chart positions (for music singles) should look, starting (mostly) at WT:Manual of Style (record charts)#Chart template formats and with an alternate set of proposals at User:Lil-unique1/Chart formats.
My preferences are shown below, left to right, followed by Lil-unique1's proposals 2b and 2c, preferably when Propsal 2b doesn't have the word "Chart" as in Belgium and Japan there.
Notes: (1) This page isn't finished, because I still have to figure out why Lil-unique1 showed 2 rows for Japan. Singlechart uses only one (although I realize that the formatting discussions here would affect manually-entered chart tables as well). (2) My JFP2 is also not solid because I have yet to decide what names should be used ("Sverigetopplistan Top 60 Singles", "Top 60 Singles", or just "Top 60"). (3) Also uncertain, what "real names" should be used for the Billboard charts (consider Mainstream Top 40 (Pop Songs)). (4) JFP1 is basically my testing table for {{singlechart}}
tests, so there are a couple of repetitive-looking rows (Denmark, NL, Norway). None of the tables currently show Belgian Ultratip examples, unfortunately. Every basic macro is shown, however.
Principle: Country, not adjective (exception: European), not linked, with UK and U.S. abbreviated as UK & US; Chart name or provider in parens, linked to article, except UK and US charts, where both chart name (without parens) and provider (in parens) are given. Article linked to is about chart itself when available, provider otherwise (exception: US charts link to articles, provider links to Billboard).
