I've done a lot of work on Wikipedia, so I thought I'd be a bit egoistic and display my trophy articles. (Not that I claim ownership of them or anything.)

Licensing rights granted to Wikimedia Foundation

I grant non-exclusive permission for the Wikimedia Foundation Inc. to relicense my text and media contributions, including any images, audio clips, or video clips, under any copyleft license that it chooses, provided it maintains the free and open spirit of the GFDL. This permission acknowledges that future licensing needs of the Wikimedia projects may need adapting in unforeseen fashions to facilitate other uses, formats, and locations. It is given for as long as this banner remains.

Just contributions...

• I wrote the article on Bandar Utama, my home for six years. My stay there was the longest I've ever lived in any one place for my whole life (as of 2005).
• I condensed the History section of the Beatles and moved it to History of the Beatles, earning the Beatles a nod as a Featured Article. It was eventually featured on the main page as well.
• I assisted in getting Coca-Cola featured status (but this was somewhat marred by a short-lived edit war — see Talk:Coca-Cola). The article was featured on the front page on August 27, 2004. I later helped move unrelated material to the Coca-Cola Company.
• Okay, here are the Beatles' song articles I've heavily rewritten. Thanks to them, I now know a lot more about the Beatles than I ever thought I would — certainly not when I started work on Yesterday (song). The list is in chronological order:
  • I expanded Yesterday (song); half the content there was contributed by me, and the other half was completely reworded by me. It became a featured article on August 16, 2004, its second run at being nominated. On September 27, 2004, it was featured on the main page.
  • I created Something (song) from complete scratch and raised it to well above stub level. Thanks to this and Yesterday, I think I (sadly) know far more about the Beatles than I really ever expected to know. On August 21, 2004, it became a featured article.
  • I rewrote Hey Jude completely. On August 21, 2004, it became a featured article. I later saved it from FARC.
  • I rewrote I Want To Hold Your Hand. Its first FAC nomination failed because there was only one vote — a support vote, I should add. I renominated this on September 11, as I did with all of the following songs until Get Back. Finally some time in December 2004 it became featured.
  • I rewrote She Loves You. It became a featured article on March 19, 2005.
  • I rewrote From Me To You.
  • I rewrote Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown).
  • I rewrote A Day in the Life.
  • I rewrote The Long and Winding Road. It was featured on the main page at some time, but I can't remember when.
  • I rewrote Get Back.
  • I created A Hard Day's Night (song) (and entered it in Danny's contest). The day after I wrote it, it was featured on the front page in the new articles section. It was runner-up in Danny's contest, and eventually became a featured article.
  • I rewrote Taxman. Not to featured level, though.
  • I rewrote Real Love (song). As an aside, it's my favourite song. It became a featured article on July 12, 2005.
• I wrote (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction from scratch (my first close-to-featured-level non-Beatles song article from scratch). I also entered it in Danny's contest. It became a featured article on November 29, 2004.
• I substantially expanded Mozilla Firefox, and it became a featured article on November 25 2004, and featured on the main page three days later.
• I substantially expanded King James Version of the Bible. It became a featured article on November 29, 2004. It was featured on the main page on February 4 2005.
• I substantially expanded Beatles for Sale.
• I expanded the features section of Windows XP and rewrote its lead section. It was featured on the Main Page on June 5 2005. I later saved it from FARC.
• I assisted with the rewriting of a subsection on modern Formula One; it became a featured article on September 8 2005.
• I helped write two sections of and reorganise Theodore Roosevelt, which became a featured article on October 14 2005.
• I've contributed sporadically to articles about the Politics of Malaysia and Malaysia in general:
  • During the Malaysian general election, 2004 I helped update vote tallies and cover the controversies about voting discrepancies.
  • I helped expand Internal Security Act (Malaysia).
  • I helped expand the article on Onn Jaafar; in 2005, I also wrote a satirical report on him for my Penilaian Menengah Rendah (Lower Secondary Evaluation) examination, lambasting him as a traitor to the Malays.
  • The Democratic Action Party, a party for wheezers who enjoy making noise and occasionally doing the right thing for the wrong reasons.
  • Lim Guan Eng, a possibly beneficiary of nepotism.
  • United Malays National Organisation, a ruffian's club of nepotists and racists.
  • The May 13 Incident, quite possibly the most retarded thing ever to happen in Malaysia next to the ouster of Singapore.
  • The Constitution of Malaysia, which is generally agreed to be worthless.
  • I contributed to the coverage of the controversy about the headscarf scandal at the International Islamic University Malaysia.
  • I helped write about the Times Higher Education Supplement (THES) rankings scandal at the University of Malaya.
  • The History of Malaysia is very boring and confusing when you study it in school.
  • Islam in Malaysia is currently rather fustrating.
  • The Dewan Negara is a rubber-stamp.
  • Once you stay in Malaysia long enough, you get desensitised to things like Baldgate.
  • I don't see what's so bad about the Malaysian New Economic Policy; corruption would have taken place with or without it.
• I saved McDonald's urban legends from deletion by citing sources and expanding it.
• I occasionally dabble in articles on British royalty.
  • I cited sources for Prince Michael of Kent.
  • I did the same and expanded Prince George, Duke of Kent.
  • Ditto Princess Beatrice of York.
  • George V of the United Kingdom, too.
  • Same for his son, George VI of the United Kingdom.
  • Thanks to a rather neat stroke of luck, the House of Hanover produced six British monarchs.
  • I also plan to some day tackle the referencing of other articles on British royalty, considering how unsourced the articles in this area are — even Princess Diana has none (as of January 2006).

Articles I created from scratch

• I wrote much of Education in Malaysia, but this was destroyed by an anon's rewrite (of course, which I don't mind).
• I created chicken nugget, warranty, and Joseph Darby (the three best articles I created than I can think of off the top of my head).
• Oh yeah, and Something (song) and double-decker bus too.
• Don't forget From Me To You.
• (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction is another one.
• A Hard Day's Night (song) shouldn't be forgotten either.
• Not sure if m:Really Reformed Church of Wikipedia counts, but meh.
• It's not much, but I created the article on Nicol David, one of the few Malaysian athletes in any sport who doesn't suck.
• On the festive side of things, I created DeepaRaya and Kongsi Raya.
• Speaking of athletes and festivals, have I mentioned Karamjit Singh, Hari Raya and Hari Raya Aidilfitri?
• Oh, and just to fill in the gaps (and for the heck of it), I created Karamjit Singh (electoral commissioner).
• Speaking of obscure folk, has anyone heard of Leslie Clifford Bateman?
• Oh screw it, here's a list of Malaysian political articles I created:
  • Article 153 of the Constitution of Malaysia is an article I personally feel should be amended. So, I created its article. It became a featured article in early 2006, and was featured on the main page on January 18 2006.
  • When it comes to Malaysian politics, you can't forget Shad Saleem Faruqi or Shahrir Abdul Samad.
  • Ketuanan Melayu is Malay for apartheid.
  • The Social contract (Malaysia) is an anachronism that ought to be retired.
  • People who think Malaysian Malaysia is stupid need to get a bigger brain.
  • I remain puzzled as to how Badruddin Amiruldin managed to ever get elected to Parliament.
  • The Malaysian prisoner abuse scandal is more related to human rights, but meh.
  • I think all candidates for the Pengkalan Pasir by-election, 2005 should go to hell.
  • Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz is a bloody racist.
  • Betty Chew probably got where she is through nepotism.
  • Malaysia Today makes a lot of sense half of the time, and is insane the other half of the time. (Excluding the reader comments. Those never make sense.)
  • I've been helping out at the Parliament of Malaysia article since the second controversy (the first was in the 80s, when the executive cowed the judiciary into toeing the line) about separation of powers broke out. Scratch that. Turns out I created the article in the first place, just before the 2004 general elections. It's spooky how you can forget articles you've worked on. :{
  • The Dewan Rakyat is an elected rubber-stamp.
  • Article 160 of the Constitution of Malaysia is perplexing.
  • I hate people who consider me a pendatang asing. Fuck you.
  • The status of Illegal immigrants in Malaysia is very strange.
  • The Speaker of the Dewan Rakyat needs to control people like Nazri Aziz.
  • The First Malaysia Plan didn't really work out well, did it?
  • The Second Malaysia Plan went a bit overboard with Malay affirmative action, but so did the NEP in general.
  • Tan Chee Khoon should've tried to keep Parti Gerakan Rakyat Malaysia out of Barisan Nasional instead of upping and quitting.
  • Same goes for Syed Hussein Alatas.
  • Salleh Abas was unfairly sacked.
  • I hate ultras.
  • The Majlis Amanah Rakyat is really only for the benefit of certain...people.
  • The Malaysian Industrial Development Authority has a surprisingly wide jurisdiction.
  • I don't understand the point of the Urban Development Authority.
  • FELDA shouldn't really be around — Malaysia needs to industrialise, not agriculturise is that a word?).
  • The Malaysian Special Branch is creepy.
• The Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia is a very difficult exam, you know.

Trivia

• My thousandth edit was to experiment with a new system for voting on the now-defunct Votes for Deletion.
• My two thousandth edit was to discuss the possibility of writing new articles about various sections of HeavenGames.
• My three thousandth edit concerned the December 2004 arbitration elections controversy about disendorsements.
• My four thousandth edit was about an image up for deletion.
• My five thousandth edit redirected an article.
• My ten thousandth edit warned a user about vandalism.
• Oddly enough, only one out of these edits above has been to an article in the main namespace, perhaps reflecting my heavy involvement in areas not involving article editing; after all, not even half of my edits have been to articles in the main namespace. Still, this doesn't reflect my heavy involvement in working towards featured status in several articles.
