I'm still working on becoming a pastor for the ELCA, and have interests almost as wide as a librarian would (appropriate, as I've worked my way through school in many a library). I read, write, sing, and act in my copious free time, and I'm quite fond of naps and chocolate.
I'm interested in astronomy, geology, astrophysics, the history of science, creative writing including fanfiction, science fiction and speculative fiction (including a bit of fantasy but not a lot), other random fiction genres, history (specifically medieval, rennaissance, the pioneers in America and the westernization of the Middle East), the onward march of technology (though I don't have enough time to really study it), religion and its history (specifically Mormonism, the crusades, and the Great Awakenings (including this 3rd one we're in now)), philosophy (not really epistemology but almost anything else), psychology, sociology, logic problems, crocheting, the Dewey Decimal System, and lots of other things I can't think of right now.
Some of my favorite authors are Jane Austen, Douglas Adams, Isaac Asimov, Orson Scott Card, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle, Robert A. Heinlein, Melanie Rawn, Charlotte Brontë, Margaret Mitchell, Louisa May Alcott, Janet Evanovich just for fun, and other random people not coming to mind right now.
I know what the air smells like when snow is on the way, and my biological tornado radar isn't bad either.
