Nedumparambil Family History

Nedumparambil is an ancient Roman catholic Latin family in Ernakulam and Thrissur districts. A large number of family members live in maradu, kundannoor, netoor areas. And they belong to the parishes of moothedom, thykoodam, thomaspuram, nettoor etc. A large part of the family lives in N. Paravur and suburbs which is the cradle of Christianity in kerala. These are places like thuruthipuram, poyya, methala, pallipuram etc. There are others live in cochin and different parts of Ernakulam city. Though the connection between the families in paravur and else where is not proved. It could be that family members have migrated from paravur during the fight of tippu sultan and even before that. The family that lives in the maradu municipality are migrated from venduruthy. The first migration happened in the 18 th century. And another major migration when the people where shifted for the building of naval base after 1930s. The family has contributed much to the church. In venduruthy which was one of the prominent place of the family, the family had a chapel in its own name. The holy articles and statues were brought from Goa by sea in the 17 th century by an elder in this family. And those were blessed by the then bishop apostolic administer of varapoly. This chapel was under the parish church of Sts. Peter and Paul, venduruthy, an ancient church of the archdiocese of verapoly. Six acres of land was also donated the church. However this chapel does not exist now. But the cross brought from Goa is now enshrined in a chapel under the holy cross church, nettoor. The family has also contributed much for the church of nettoor.
