Some photos by James Alexander Klahre (1877-1963). They are all from around 1905 (when he was about 28 years old), based on the appearance of the photos in the roll of film (or whatever a set of photos developed at the same time was called then), some of which are dated 1904 or 1905. His grandfather (Moritz Theodore Klahre) and my great-great-grandfather (Charles Edward Klahre) were brothers (German immigrants). It so happens that his mother (Maria Grove) and my great-grandmother (Fannie Jane Grove) were first cousins, making us doubly related. He was born in Bedford County, Pennsylvania, and lived in Everett, and then moved to Johnstown later in life. Nevertheless he clearly went out of his way to take some of these photographs.
