Ongezellig, meaning "unsociable",[1] is a Dutch slice-of-life animated web series created by Netherlands-based YouTuber and animator Studio Massa.[2] The show follows Maya Schoppenboer, a socially anxious, introverted girl trying to pass her high school history presentation along with her two adoptive sisters, Coco, and Mymy.[3] The show debuted in July 2018 on YouTube and continued until the sixth and final deel ("part" in Dutch), was uploaded in October 2022.[4][5]
Fanbase
editDespite being entirely in Dutch, the series has a large English-speaking fanbase, specifically on 4chan's /co/ board, and the spinoff imageboard soyjak.party.[6]
Discontinuation
editIn February 2024, Studio Massa announced that the show would be put on an indefinite hiatus due to poor funding, and an unsuccessful pitching process.[7]
