Michael J.P. Gibson is an American musician and composer. Born November 22, 1981, in Snyder, TX, Michael showed immense creativity as a child, often writing stories with complicated plots, and recording himself singing a capella, then overdubbing his own harmonies. Michael attended West Texas A&M University on a classical piano scholarship and graduated with honors in 2005 with a Bachelor's degree in Music Composition. While in college, he sang in the Collegiate Choir, played piano for the University Touring Jazz Band, and learned to compose and arrange musical scores for small and large ensembles. Upon his college graduation, Michael immediately began his career as a professional musician, and has since maintained this status over the years through many different experiences: a member of musical theater orchestras, a pianist for churches, a touring and studio musician, and a composer, recording engineer, and producer for independent film soundtracks. Among his works for films are 2008's "Mouth of Caddo," a 2008-2009 YouTube series called "Valley Peaks," an independent film called "History of Made Up Things," and 2010's upcoming "The Legend of Hell's Gate." Michael's debut single, "Slanted Wall," was released on iTunes in 2009, garnering him an addition to the database in AllMusic.com. His next single, "Eclipse the Spectrum," will debut on iTunes in 2010. Michael is currently working on a solo project in which he composes, records, and produces his own music, and performs these works as a "one-man band" by singing, playing a keyboard, and using a drum machine to operate original beats and samples, all simultaneously.
