Public toilets in Norway are found at a rate of 33 per 100,000 people. Having a sit toilet and often providing toilet paper, they tend to cost around Kr10. In the 2020, the National Tourist Routes installed a number of interesting public toilets.

A 2021 study found there were 33 public toilets per 100,000 people.[2] The most common type of toilet is a sit toilet.[1] Public toilets often have toilet paper.[1] The typical charge to use a public toilet is Kr10.[1]
National Tourist Routes had architecturally interesting public toilets installed along them in the early 2020s. The goal was to provide rest areas, become destinations in their own right and to facilitate discussion about the importance of art in the public sphere. [3]
Near Gildeskal off the Fv17 road in Ureddplassen has a wave shaped public toilet with a viewing terrace across the open sea with views of the Norwegian Sea. Designed by Oslo architects Marit Justine Haugen and Dan Zohar, it cost £1.4 million to build.[4]
