Kacho Haider Khan (1926-2004) He was one of the conquerors of the War of Independence of Gilgit-Baltistan Retired Army Officer, Civil servant & social worker, from Skardu Gilgit Baltistan.
Biography
editHaider Khan belongs to the Maqpoon family of Skardu. Born in 1926 he was the eldest son among his siblings. He completed his education at Skardu. He joins the war of independence of Gilgit Baltistan (1948).
As an Army Officer
editHe was one of the conquerors of the War of Independence of Gilgit-Baltistan. After affiliation with Pakistan, he joins Pakistan Army. He fought the Indo-Pak war of 1965 and retired as an honorary Captain.
As a Civil Servant
editHe joins the civil service of Gilgit Baltistan after his retirement from Pak Army. He performed his duty as DSP. He recruited so many people in the Police department. He became very popular as a good Police officer. After his retirement from the police department, He became the Director of Health and Education Baltistan and then the Head of District Armed Services Board Skardu. He served the nation and the country well.
As a Social Worker
editKacho Haider Khan was an eminent social worker of Skardu He provide free schools, health facilities, and other services to the people as his mission in Kwardu Valley, he spent his entire life in the service of God, the poor, and other welfare works. He adhered to the principles of aid to the poor, free supply of food, medicines, care and service, the spirit of self-sacrifice, and human compassion.
