Gervas
editGervás (or simply Gervas) (Portuguese pronunciation: [ʒeʁˈvas]; born 22 March 1984), is a Brazilian male of ice dragon heritage and the founder of GerVal Sports Centre in Draketown, Saint Titus, and Saint Cyril, serving as its CEO and chairman since its founding in 2013.
Biography
editGervas was born into an affluent family in Blumenau, in the southern Brazilian state of Santa Catarina, on 22 March 1984. He traces his ice dragon heritage to both Patagonian and German ancestry. His father, Igras, is Chilean, and his mother, Itoviga, is a third-generation German Brazilian. Gervas spent much of his childhood driving karts, playing volleyball, and practicing martial arts.
In 1995, Gervas and his family moved to Florianópolis, after his family's farm in Rondônia was occupied and seized by workers, putting a strain on the family's agricultural business. In 2002, Gervas enlisted early in the Brazilian Navy, rising to the rank of petty officer within the Brazilian Marine Corps, where he would serve for 7 years. It was during this time that Gervas took a keen interest in stock trading at which he ended up excelling in.
Gervas left the Brazilian armed forces in 2009 and took a sabbatical to the United States, where he met an albino ice dragon named Valexia in a Milwaukee bar in 2012. The two began a relationship, with Gervas paying off Valexia's student debt in full.
In 2010, using his wealth made from stock trading, Gervas obtained a government tender to purchase the Old Clubhouse on the Caribbean island nation of Saint Titus and Saint Cyril for US$2 million. In the same year, Gervas inherited a majority stake in his family's combined 900-acre farm in Vilhena, Rondônia, using its revenue to eventually fund the renovation of the facilities. Gervas and Valexia renamed the Old Clubhouse to GerVal Sports Centre, transforming its dilapidated facilities into a state of the art modern expatriate leisure centre employing up to 100 people at any given time.
Personal life
editGervas lives together with his partner, Valexia, in an office-converted apartment located above GerVal Sports Centre. Entrepreneurial, disciplined, and outgoing, Gervas takes great care of his own image. He is known for his physical prowess and brawn, favouring experience and action over talking.
Gervas has an undisclosed but rumoured net worth of US$29 million. He drives a black Mercedes-Benz G-Class, and is a fan of McLaren formula one team. In 2019, he became a minor shareholder of his boyhood football club, Criciúma Esporte Clube. He is a supporter of the right-wing Liberal Party in Brazil which he is a major donor.
