User Kasmith is Kendall A. Smith, M.D., who is the Rochelle Belfer Professor of Medicine and Immunology at The Weill Medical College of Cornell University, New York, NY. He also is Chief of the Divsion of Immunology in the Department of Medicine and Senior Attending Physician at The New York Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. He was on the faculty of Dartmouth Medical School, Hanover, N.H. for 20 years (1973-1993) before joining Weill Cornell in 1993. He has authored or co-authored over 200 scientific papers, and he is the Editor in Chief of the open access on-line journal Frontiers in Immunology (www.frontiersin.org/immunology). His major academic/scientific interests are the regulation of the immune response, cytokines (interleukins), the immune response to viral infections, including HIV, HCV and influenza virrus, vaccines, leukemogenesis and the history of immunology.
