Katende Maxtone Mutyaba is a Ugandan, Pisciculturist(fish farmer), Trainer of Trainees and an agri-prenuer.
Katende was born 31/July 1984, in Kayunga District of Uganda and was raised on the farm in Kyampisi village, of Kayunga sub county.
He went to Ndeeba primary school where in qualified to join the prestigious schools like Bugema Adventist secondary schools, Kasawo secondary school, Ndeeba secondary school where he elevated to join Uganda's main university- Makerere University.
Katende earned a bachelor's degree in anthropological sciences later to master's in agriculture in University of Botswana in Gaborone.
In 2008, Katende an informal youth group engaging in agriculture at Kyampisi village later graduated for registration at the District community development office.
The formation of Kayunga Integrated Community Action for Development (KICAD). The organization grew big and amplified most agribusiness and value addition.
Katende being the programs coordinator of KICAD, applied in Tools with a mission (TWAM) for agricultural and other tools through David White.
He fled frequently to search for development knowledge from networks from Indonesia, Nigeria, Egypt, Vietnamese, Botswana, Tanzania, Zambia, Mozambique, Namibia, and Mzansi(south Africa).
Katende got highly skilled in fish farming ( tilapia and cat fish from breeding to marketing, duck farming )in Indonesia, north african cat fish value addition in Lagos State of Nigeria, Boer goat farming in Free State and commercial maize production in Mpumalanga Province of South Africa.
The combination of all attained took him to another level of establishing an Agri Tourism and Development project along side KICAD.
Contributions to the communities in Uganda:
He has spread the knowledge country wide, that's to say setting up a tilapia and Muscovy duck farm in Mukono kawunga in mukono district, a pineapple project at Nazigo sub county in Kayunga district, improved maize and cassava demo project in Wattuba village in Wakiso district, tilapia and cat fish project in Busaana town council and Namagabi 1&2 villages of Kayunga town council.
