Hey my name is Katie! I grew up in Milwaukee, WI. I am a huge fan of the Milwaukee Brewers, college baseball, and the Green Bay Packers. Because of my huge interest in the sports industry, I am involved in the media relations field and do some work in sports videography. I earned my Communication Arts degree in 2009.
Throughout college I was always told not to cite Wikipedia as a source of information. I want to help change that. Wikipedia has the authority and popularity, but so many major corporate pages are underdeveloped, contain overly promotional content, or lack citations. Neutrality is the key for these types of pages, and that's what I'm working on! I started with companies that are on the list of fortune 500 companies who have pages that are underdeveloped or have disputed neutrality. I want to build up my Wikipedia resume by working to resolve a lot of the major issues which face the Wikipedia pages of large companies. I want these pages to become a destination for good quality information, not a place for advertising or self promotion, or a place for people to complain. Wikipedia is not a forum for bashing or bullying, it should be factual and updated.
