Alice Lloyd Hall
editAlice Lloyd Hall, also known as Lloyd, or just "my dorm" is one of the many amazing dorms on the central campus of University of Michigan for students to reside in. The University of Michigan is located in Ann Arbor, Michigan in the United States. Alice Lloyd is located inside the University of Michigan on 100 Observatory Street. Alice Lloyd Hall was completed in 1949 at a cost of $2.9 million. Alice Crocker Lloyd, a well respected member of the University and the namesake of he building, was the University's Dean of Women from 1930-1950. The halls within this dorm are named after important women from the University's past: Sarah Caswell Angell, Caroline Hubbard Kleinsteuck, Mary Louisa Hindsdale, and Alice Freeman Palmer. From its start, Lloyd remained an all-female dorm until 1968. This stayed until the Lloyd Hall Scholars Program moved into the dorm and made it co-educational. [1]
