176BIZ (ビズイチナナロク, bizu ichi nana roku, lit. "biz one seven six") was an indipendent visual kei rock band from Tokyo, Japan. The band and the duo it had emerged from existed from July 2005 to March 2009.
Biography
editAfter bassist Tara (たら) had to leave his former band Panic Channel and was hospitalised due to hearing problems, he decided in mid-2005 to form the duo Betty (ベティ, Beti) together with Yuu Aota (青田 勇, Aota Yū), the former vocalist of Never Crazy. The two of them were supported by guitarist Tsubasa (翼), also from Panic Channel, and NANA, who played the drums in Mask before. They had only performed in six events and released one major single - Aka (朱-アカ-) - when in spring 2006 Yuu and Tara announced that Tsubasa would become their official guitarist, changing his stage name to Toki (刻). At the same time, former Karen guitarist Setsuki (雪希) and Kasumi (楓栖), who had already played the drums for La'miss†fairy and Gimmick, joined in. The new lineup put an end to the Betty era and 176BIZ was born.
