Brief Biography

edit

I am a computer scientist who has been doing research in the general area of compiler-based code optimization since 1979. My primary interests are in classical optimization and code generation. I have also spent some time thinking about interprocedural analysis and optimization, often called "whole program optimization."

About once a month, I edit some compiler-related page on Wikipedia. Most of the changes that I make are corrections to gross factual errors or the addition of references. My first edits were to the page on static single assignment form (SSA). I entered them anonymously and someone quickly undid them. I registered by name and the redactor allowed my corrections to remain.

I am a poor email correspondent. Please put "wikipedia" in the subject line if you send me mail about something on Wikipedia. My mail filter will call it to my attention.
