This is a list of Minor League Baseball players (initially the list was made up by articles created by User:Gjr rodriguez, but it has expanded since then) that may or may not:
- Pass the general notability guidelines
- Pass an interpretation of WP:ATHLETE that Minor League Baseball players are not "fully professional" (and therefore are not inherently notable)
- Pass the guidelines at Wikipedia:WikiProject Baseball/Notability guidelines
This is a list to show the status of each article, it is not an endorsement for the articles deletion, nor is it an endorsement of its being kept.
Update: 8 December 2012. In its original format this list was made up of several sub-groups based on if the player had reached a certain level or received a certain amount of coverage. Given the fluid nature of players changing teams/leagues this is no longer feasible, so they are just broken down into "deleted or not". Also over the last 2+ years various articles on this list that were deleted were recreated on their own merits, deleted from lack thereof, or redirected because that's how Wikipedia rolls. As stated above this page is not an endorsement for keeping or deleting, it is more of a holding pen to see what the status of the articles are. More of a "why is this link blue/red". I envision revisiting this page periodically to move pages within appropriately, or nominate for deletion if warranted. The blue links will probably separate again.
Update: 16 April 2014. This list has mainly been sorted, there are a few players with articles that still have not made it to the Majors, and have been retained because consensus at AfD was they meet the General Notability Guidelines. This effectively draws to an end of this project.
Note the original comments from the original scope of this project are included beside the player's name. I would like to thank the following users who helped add to and maintain this list, including (but not limited to):
