Anna Koeva (Russian: Аня Коева) is an Ukrainian-American model, volleyball player and activist for women's rights. She plays volleyball for Holliston High School and Metro West as a libero. Known for her fearless style of play and sacrificing her body to make seemingly impossible dives and saves. Her work as an activist includes attending marches and advocating for political change. Born on January 3rd, 2001 in Pasadena, California to Ukrainian immigrants from Kiev, father, Gennadiy Koev and mother, Victoria (née Zhyvotovska). Koeva was brought up with Russian as her first language and is a polyglot also being fluent in English and Spanish. She moved from Pasadena to Libertyville, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago, in 2003 when she was 2 years old, remembering very little of her time there as a child. Koeva considers Libertyville to be her hometown, though she now resides in Holliston, Massachusetts 21 miles(35 kilometers) south of Boston. Koeva enjoys travelling especially back her parent's natural country, Ukraine where she feels a very strong sense of identification with the Ukrainian people. She is an avid sports fan supporting the Cubs of the MLB, Bulls of the NBA, Blackhawks of the NHL and Revolution of the MLS.
