Kenny Howieson is a Scottish Punk Rock bass guitarist. Picking up his first bass at 15 years old, Kenny quickly became one of the most recognised Punk bass players in the country.
Starting off in local Ardrossan band The Clique who built up a fast following. Supporting the likes of UK Subs, The Volunteers, Wolfesbane (a band that included ex Iron Maiden singer Blaze Bailey). Toxic Ephex, while writing and recording their own songs. Kenny played all over Scotland with many bands before finding some success with Ayrshire band Hide. Hide headlined the 2001 Edinburgh Festival as well as single Psuedo Radio selling out in Fopp. Regular airplay was achieved with he band having a week long play on Beat 106 with Jim Gellately, Monday night live with Vic Galloway, a stint on Jo Whiley's radio 1 show. She called the single, big on sound, big on soul and a potential big hit. This all led to some showcase gigs around Britain and were played on German radio, billed as the next Oasis. Kenny was made redundant by the band due to alcoholism and entered rehab in the summer of 2001. After taking some time out from music, he started the Band Kingpin with Hides Ian Smith guitar, Hush drummer Paul Slavin and Ian's cousin Frank Smith on vocals and guitar. They went on to record a few demos like the classic Lightyears Away, Wild in One and Something Ain't Right. After another stint in rehab, Kenny joined a Church worship group and since then only does his own music for his own pleasure.
